Politics, religion, music, etc. -- the good stuff.
Family and Friends.
Bulgaria.
I'd like to meet:
This is Rila Monastery, in Bulgaria. It is a place which I very much want to visit one day.
It was founded over 1100 years ago by Saint John of Rila (Sveti Ivan Rilksi). He was a monk and a hermit in the mountains of southern Bulgaria at the time when Bulgaria was still becoming Christian. He became so holy that he attracted followers. They established the monastery at Rila. It became a center of prayer, spiritual living and renewal, evangelization, and culture for the Bulgarian people. Today, it is listed as a UNESCO site; but it is still a practicing monastery with a handful of monks.
Who would I like to meet ?
You !
I like to meet interesting people. If we have similar interests, that's all the better.
I am always glad to meet good bands.
I change my "Top Friends"
daily, so stop back and see who's who.
Thank you for visiting. Be well.
Music:
I like R&B, neo-Soul, indie rock, classic rock, jazz, blues, world music, classical, and ambient music.
My nephew is getting me interested in ska !
I'm open to pretty much any style of music if it is done well.
My playlist is a sample of my interests. Enjoy, and email me any suggestions.
Also, I enjoy the Michael Baisden show on the radio. He has a good combination of R&B, neo-Soul, humor, politics and current events. It's on 3 - 7 p.m. (Eastern), Mondays-Fridays.

The Maltese Falcon. Casablanca. The Third Man. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Ben Hur. Star Wars. Blade Runner. The Last Temptation of Christ. The Matrix. Memento. The Austin Powers movies. Television:
I admit it: I actually ENJOY watching TV.
The Prisoner (from back in the 60's, for those who prefer their consciousness shaken not stirred).
The original Star Trek (with Bill Shatner).
Two and a Half Men (which is hilarious).
The First 48 (Forget CSI. This and Forensic Files are the REAL deal.)
CNN and MSNBC. I'm watching a lot more MSNBC these days than I used to.
The Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, The Military Channel, and my new favorite: the Science Channel.
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations That's right!
Geico commercials and Priceline commercials
Books:
I LOVE reading: religion, spirituality, philosophy. I enjoy classic science fiction (including Traveller, by Marc Miller and Steve Jackson) for fun.
Heroes:
My family, my friends, and anyone who has triumphed over suffering and challenges with goodness and compassion.
