About Me

In 2007 Wesley invited Paul McKercher, Greg Royal, Gerard Masters and Hamish Stuart to help him lay his songs down at Electric Avenue Studios in Sydney. Also guest starring are his friends Jim Moginie from Midnight Oil and Melanie Horsnell (an amazing singer/songwriter in her own right.)
At the end of 2005, Wesley had finished up his touring with former band "Tambalane" (a collaboration with silverchair drummer Ben Gillies) and moved back to South Australia; He found a local bar in Rundle street Adelaide, where they were willing to have him play for 4 to 5 hours every Thursday and Friday night. It was there when CJ Vanston walked through the door and asked Wes, "What the hell are you doing here?" CJ was on tour as the musical director for well known singer Joe Cocker.
In May 2006 he left for LA to go and work with CJ. Whilst in America he had the pleasure of working with industry greats such as Jeff 'the skunk' Baxter from "Steely Dan" and "the Doobie Brothers," and Mac Davis who wrote the Elvis classic 'In the Ghetto." Just recently a song Wes co-wrote with CJ has been placed in the recent Christopher Guest (Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind) film "For your Consideration.''
Wes has also collaborated and worked with well known artists such as Andrew Farris (INXS), Don Walker (Cold Chisel), Missy Higgins, Paul Mac, Endorphin and Abby Dobson (leonardo's bride).
Wesley Carr is 24 years young and was born in Adelaide, Australia. With a guitar in hand and tattered pockets full of songs, he moved to Sydney when he turned 15. Emotionally and physically exhausted... he took to a bar stool... pitched a tent around his troubles... and in local pubs around the city he began the outpouring of his soulful tunes. These painfully truthful stories awash with fantasy, heartache and isolation, have been captivating his listeners ever since....
