About Me

"Those who assume hypotheses as first principles of their speculations...may indeed form an ingenious romance, but a romance it will still be."
--Roger Cotes
As you live your days, so you craft your life.
Those that look for beauty, find it.
The Universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it. ~Marcus Aurelius
sic luceat lux
A watch is always too fast or too slow. I cannot be dictated to by a watch.
~Jane Austen
High heels, they put a woman that much closer to heaven.
~Tom Robbins
I collect holy cards of the saints, the ones I find in books. Bonzai and minature roses. The Rose Adagio from Sleeping Beauty. Rituals and wildness. Action versus Idea. Moonbathing. Destruction of all clocks, of all alarms. Mermaids. Arabic calligraphy. Writing in cipher. That place where cultivation meets the wilderness, that is where I dwell. Gladly hold the hands of nature and artifice. I am Ovid's wet dream. Don't believe everything you think. Meteor showers are best during the day. Things that dangle from the trees. Glass. Oh, lapses.
You Are a Blue Flower
A blue flower tends to represent peace, openness, and balance.
At times, you are very delicate like a cornflower.
And at other times, you are wise like an iris.
And more than you wish, you're a little cold, like a blue hydrangea. What Color Flower Are You?

My Interests

"The farther behind I leave the past, the closer I am to forging my own character." Isabelle Eberhardt

CURRENT MOON about the moon

I'd like to meet:

I want my rapscallionly fellow vagabond.
I want my dark lady. I want my angel--
I want my temper. I want
my Freia with her apples. I want the lighter of
my seven lamps of beauty, honour, laughter,
music, love, life and immortality...I want
my inspiration, my folly, my happiness,
my divinity, my madness, my selfishness,
my final sanity and sanctification,
my transfiguration, my purification,
my light across the sea,
my palm across the desert,
my garden of lovely flowers,
my million nameless joys,
my day's wage,
my night's dream,
my darling and
my star...*

Tom Ripley

Music:

in general...
aural landscaping, ambient of all sorts, trip-hop, downtempo and chillout, most anything from George V's record label or J. Ralph's Rumor Mill. During the summer, I like some dancehall. Classical, Opera, Film Soundtracks. I currently worship my Pandora and my UnCuts, for the inspiration they provide. I like things I can dance to, and lyrics that move me.
I love most music, with the exceptions of country and musicals.

without music, life would be an error-Nietzsche

"We all become different readers in how we respond to books, why we need them, what we take from them. We become different in the questions that arise as we read, in the answers that we find, in the degree of satisfaction or unease we feel with those answers. . . In the hands of a different reader, the same story can be a different story."
"The Opposite of Fate" by Amy Tan
