....But the reality didn't quite catch up until about age 15. He was invited to play bass guitar for a Dead Kennedy's cover band. This is when he fell in love with the process of performing. The cover band never really panned out, but developed into one of the first black metal bands in America (well at least Orange County... but that's all hearsay... regardless). After about a year and a half of playing concerts from OC to LA, he began to broaden the horizons of my musical palette. Which eventually led to the bands demise, and the begining of a new life path.
He then packed up shop and moved to Los Angeles, where he met a friend that changed his life for good. He gave Tyler his first acoustic guitar and simply said, "write me a song". And he did... And it was horrible... But that's not the point. He started a fire under Tyler, that will never be extinguished. From that point on, he was a singer song-writer. The two later went on to start a band called Living Will. Which was a progressive hard-rock band, in the realm of the Deftones, The Used, etc. They wrote some incredible material together. Played just about every venue in Hollywood, and recorded an EP that still gets you going in the morning. Needless to say, the band had differences, and went their separate musical ways. He then started working with a producer. They too had a good run at things. Together they shopped a major record label, and booked a show at the House of Blues Foundation Room, to the reception of roughly 200+ people. The relationship was one of the most cherished, and educational experiences of this career thus far. Sadly their paths eventually parted ways. But they will always appreciate the time shared. So that's the Tyler Von Allen story in a nutshell. Currently residing in beautiful Silverlake, CA. He's been writing music for a little over 7 years. During which he's worked with a number of very talented musicians and professionals, who have taught him countless life lessons, and accompanied him on countless journeys of love and loss. And they will always be loved and appreciated for that. He has however began a new path in his career, and is looking forward to recording his debut album, and in search of management, legal and label representation.
