About Me

Dear, Supporters,For over 20 years my career has centered around work in the entertainment industry as a international record executive and national concert tour promoter. http://www.mcgillismusic.com for details.I now want to put that know-how to work for you as our next Clerk of the Circuit Court. I hope you will take some time to review my background and the duties of Clerk’s office as detailed at my Campaign web site at http://www.mcgillis4clerk.com when comparing my credentials with other candidates, I trust you will come to the conclusion that no one can match the qualifications and experience I uniquely bring to this complex and important office. As a candidate dedicated to reform and accountability the Clerk of the Circuit Court under my administration will report to you the Clerk’s Annual Report. This report will provide you an overview of the duties, services and achievements of the Clerk of the Circuit Court throughout each calendar year. The mission is to achieve excellence in customer service and to uphold high ethical standards with compassion for others. I will take a focused approach to customer satisfaction. The efforts will result in reduced lines and wait time at the service counters and overall higher customer service standards.I promise to streamline the structure of the Clerks office aligning and merging departments to achieve greater operational efficiencies; and flatten the organizational structure to reduce costs and improve operations. I will maintain staff who take to heart the “Commitment to Work” everyday by providing respectful, pleasant service to the citizens of Miami-Dade County while showing “Compassion for Others” through daily interaction with the public.I am committed to balancing an out of control technology department that over the past few years has cost the tax payers of Miami-Dade County over $36 million dollars and counting. The tax payers of Miami-Dade County are paying millions more every month “this must stop”. In the first few days of my administration I will stop this multi-million dollar fiasco. I will dedicate my first week in office to technology alternatives that make sense as opposed to spending the millions of dollars the current clerk has wasted on the special interest and buddies of the lobbyists. It makes no sense that every other County in Florida show profit margins while our Clerk spends over $36 million dollars on special interest software development and partnerships that just do NOT work.I will improve communication methods throughout the Clerks office both internally with staff and externally with Miami-Dade County citizens. I will collaborate with the courts and related agencies, as well as with the County Commissioners and other county offices to achieve inter-agency cooperation in government.Dear, friends I thank you for the opportunity to run for Clerk of the Circuit Court of Miami-Dade County and hope that you find this informative. The moment for change is coming make your voice heard and vote August 26, 2008.Very truly yours,Darrin E. McGillis, Candidate for Clerk of the Circuit Court Miami-Dade County, Florida
