REFUGE THE MUSIC VIDEO
We were on a World Peace tour in Europe when we witnessed a boatload of people coming from Africa to Spain to escape the violence, disease and hunger they are living in. Some of the people were not alive as the authorities pulled them from the boat. We are also asked to hand over our cameras and film but one of us was able to escape with the film which is within our music video here. We did get back our other camera, but without the film. You can view the video that inspired this song and video below this one.
EuroRock 2008 Peace Full Sail Departure Part 4
African Refugees fleeing to Las Palmas.
While we were filming our story we came upon an emergency situation. It was an emotional moment witnessing the refugees that were fleeing from Africa and landing on the shores of Las Palmas, some half dead. The journey for them all cramped into a tiny boat is treacherous and horrifying when you hear all the details. It made me realize that we need to bring stories like this to everyone's attention because they are all trying to escape the turmoil and horrors that are taking place in their country. This demonstrates the urgent need to move quickly to develop immediate solutions for all people that face these types of situations. People need to feel safe in their own country so we can end the conditions that create displacement.
While documenting this moment on film authorities stepped in and tried to confiscate our camera and film, but as you can see here, we managed to get the story out to you.

Maxel got his start as a vocalist with the Toronto GNR tribute band Dust'n'Bones and was lovingly nickname "Maxel" by both his band mates and friends. During his stint with Dust'n'Bones the band held the record for breaking alcohol sales at The Paladium and RPM and still hold those records to this day. They performed at many large venues, appeared worldwide on Much Music and were so popular that they had long line-ups of people waiting outside the dressing rooms after each show. They also were invited backstage to party with Gilby Clark when he played Toronto. After several years Maxel decided it was time to explore his own voice and work on some original material. He still remains in contact with his former band mates Gonzo, Warren Peace and occasionally Jay & Paul.

Maxel Black, pro vocalist, songwriter, and lyricist is known for his powerful voice and captivating live presence. Formally front man for Penetrator, Maniacal & Mastery he was nominated by the H.M.D in 2005 as BEST FRONT MAN OF THE YEAR. After flirting between various cover and original bands Maxel's first demo breakthrough came with Mastery in 2002. He co-wrote the music and they invited music guests bassist John Mamone of Dragonfly and guitarist Andrew Roudny of Blackhour to play on all the tracks. They recorded THE TRIAD.
In the summer of 2003, Maxel met members of the band Maniacal. Maxel decided to join forces with the band and wrote the lyrics and melodies for all the songs on the demo in two weeks. Maniacal had already begun recording their tracks at Eclipse Studios in Mississauga, Ontario. Fellow Canadian Studio producer and master guitar shredder Glen Drover of King Diamond-Eidolon-Megadeth produced the demo Sinkhole to Hell. Glen stepped in during the recording adding layered harmonic guitar riffs throughout the CD. Maxel attacked the songs with a vengeance under Glens coaching.
During the making of Sinkhole, Maxel hooked up with Toronto guitarist Bess Ross whom he was introduced to at a Dio concert. They decided to get together to work on a new music project. Before they knew it Penetrator was born. The bands material was written with lightning speed and people were soon pounding on the door to get into the rehearsal space. In the spring of 2004, Penetrator recorded the demo Unleash the Fury which received rave reviews worldwide. Penetrator later inked a worldwide distribution deal with Greece's Sonic Age Records. Due to artistic differences during the making of Penetrator's second CD VooDoom and the lack of being able to find a bass player and drummer that could commit full time to Penetrator on a permanent basis, Maxel later hooked up with several players to form the band that was known as Krakatoa.
Presently Maxel has hooked up with several musicians to become part of the EUROROCK 2008 PEACE FULL SAIL MISSION/TOUR.
During his career in Penetrator, Maxel shared the stage with such acts as Cryptopsy, Eidolon, Death By Stereo, Protest The Hero, Overloaded, Arise And Ruin then known as Pure Blank, Self Inflicted, Kamelot and Seven Witches just to name a few.
