BUILDING AN ALLIANCE OF ART & TECHNOLOGY

About Me

I'm known to my artistic friends as "Skel", a name that evolved over several years and has a very strong meaning for me. The name has NO relation to the street lingo word for tattle-tale.
IN GENERAL:
I am the sort who enjoys good intelligent conversation, long walks on cool days, hanging out at clubs, and loud rock concerts. My lifestyle (and clothing tastes) are industrial goth & black metal (leather, PVC, cammo, and I even own chainmail). I was born in Toronto, Canada to a working class family. I've never had bundles of money but have traveled and lived in many other places due to my occupations you will see below. I think that living an active life is everyone's responsibility; I've never driven any motorized vehicle any great distance in my life - I ride transit, and I maintain a gym membership at Ryerson University, a school which Ithe local college, I have recently joined as one of their newest students - it's time to complete my degree!
MY WORKING CAREER:
(I'll just tell you the good stuff.... this is probably the most interesting part of me)
I've worked in everything from manual factory labour to computer programming and music production - even owning my own record company. In college I even went to Alberta to dig dinosaurs as an assistant for the Royal Tyrell Museum and volunteered at the local public library.
I am kind of an artist/inventor type. A bit of an entrepreneur also. I love music and the visual arts but also technology and enjoy merging the two. Indeed, it was technology (and skilled people) who returned my eyesight and that's probably where the love of both worlds came from; you might say that the merging of the two is like a religion with me. As a result, I have worked with somewhere around 300 rock bands in various capacities; it's not just an interest - but a way of life to me.
I've been in several Heavy Metal rock bands (played keys and bass (briefly)) and I have several family members who also perform in Heavy Metal bands; one I am forming a new project with now called Demon's Rage (a Black Metal operation: I have not uploaded the band or album photos because this bio is about me plus there are too many from all the different bands I was in). I am currently experimenting with vocals (Black Metal growling). Some of my past works have gotten played on commercial FM radio (and I have the tapes to prove it!!) I contribute to several local music related charities and am a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. A building in Toronto (the Metronome) is scheduled to be constructed and my name is one of many who contributed and whose names will be engraved into the bricks; the building celebrates the Canadian Music Industry. I have many friends in the music community as well. I have also written articles that have appeared in music related magazines.
I am also a card carrying member of the Iron Maiden band fan club!
After graduating college (I studied computer programming) I know 15 computer languages (including website coding) and have developed numerous applications including my CD-ROM sets featuring music and software that document the history of over 1600 bands and the history of Heavy Metal and Rock music titled Polishing Of Metal, The Alliance and Recorded History. I now operate a national music sales network called DISKERY and production firm titled EMPEROR MULTIMEDIA , including a non-profit site ( RRCA ) dedicated to archiving the efforts of musicians. Anyone in a rock band is welcome to apply (free) to be listed. My works have been archived in libraries around the world, including the UNESCO (United Nations: United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) "Great Library of Alexandria", millennium world heritage archive project in Alexandria Egypt. The local newspaper declared me the "next Bill Gates". Did I also mention I maintain a day job at a local pub - needless to say I'm a busy guy... As many of my friends say "Skel is building his empire".
NEWS:Off to university!!
PERSONAL LIFE:
I'm not into the wife, kids, sensible shoes & picket fence house in the suburbs! I live a very urban and alternative lifestyle.
EMPLOYMENT:

Now about me...
I like all music in general and a wide range of Heavy Metal styles. To me, rock music is more than just a passtime or even a job - it consumes my life: it IS a part of me, it is work, it is fun, it is sex... all of it. But in general my influences are hard rock and Heavy Metal bands like: Slayer, Metallica (old), Megadeth, Iron Maiden is a definate turn on (I am a card carrying member of their official fan club and part of my documentary on their discography was officially accepted and published by the club a few years back), Emperor, Dark Funeral, Annihilator, Rob Zombie, Witchery... well you get the idea....
Take a look at the concerts I've been to in the past 4 years (since I kept track):
Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Rush, Biohazard, Tiamat, Dio, Motorhead, Alice Cooper, Ash Lee Blade, Crash Kelly, W.A.S.P., Iron Maiden, Witchery, The Haunted, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Endorphins, Severed Savior, Morgion, SFH, Anvil, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Voivod, Rush, Rob Zombie, Rolling Stones, Offspring, Kiss, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Trooper, AC/DC, Skid Row, Poison, Quiet Riot, Ratt, Cinderella, Firehouse, Vince Neil, Motley Crue, Judas Priest, Teratism, Kult Of Azazel, Aesma Daeva, Azrael, Ministry, Hanzel Und Gretel, Incantation, Rotting, Unexpact, Woods Of Ypres, Malefaction, Thy Flesh Consumed, Goat Horn, Corrosion Of Conformity, Dream Theater, Fear Factory, Symphony X, Ministry, Mastery, Porno Coma, 10 Years, Korn, Penetrator, Lapidate, Betrayer, System of a Down, Disturbed, Lacuna Coil, Atreyu, Unearth, Bleeding Throught, Norma Jean, Hatebreed, Avenged Sevenfold, The New Kings, Rancid, A Faster Now, Hellz Kitchen Show, Enslaved, Dark Funeral, Fatality, Stalingrad, Exile, Nanochrist, Adytum, Nexus, Spewgore, 3 Mile Scream, Savannah, Obituary, Redeemer, Marilyn Manson, Bleeding Through, Hemlock, Meshuggah, Ministry, NIN, and BTO (remains there-of).
My record collection counts into the thousands of titles!
I have a cameo spot in the Penetrator band music video Adultress! C'uz it's real Heavy Metal!
Ok, I think you get the point....

Movies:

I'm not a huge movie fan. I think the cinema costs way too much today and I just don't have the time to watch DVD's that often.
I like comedy's, adventures, crime movies and action flicks.
In my opinion some of the best movies of all time were Jurassic Park, Hunt For Red October, Caddy Shack, The Great Escape, Revenge Of The Nerds. Ahh hell, there are so many other's I could name but I'll add them as I remember. The star wars and Star Trek movies were great but I'm not that big of a nerd to go gaga over them....

Television:

My taste in TV mirrors my taste in movies. I like comedies, actions, cop shows, Sci-Fi, news & documentaries. TV should be engaging and stimulating: today, unfortunately, much of it isn't.
