About Me

I have an interesting journey into Kenpo. It all began 1994 of Nov. with USSD under Sensei Michael O'Leary at Foster City,CA. studio earning me a yellow belt in that system. Later,my job relocated me to Boston,MA.in 1995 of Jan. and continued my training with Sensei Carmen Corrado of Kenpo Karate School of Defense at the Everett,MA. studio til the school closed in 1995 of Dec. earning me the rank of green belt. Then I began training with Shihan Joesph Nesta at the Malden,MA. studio til I relocated back to San Francisco,CA.in 1998 of Oct. leaving with a 1st degree brown belt. In the Bay Area. they didn't have any Nick Cerio Studios' available. So, I went to Great Grandmaster Ralph Castro and began training under him and chose to humbly give up my 1st degree brown belt and start over to white out of respect to him. I trained with him til 1999 of Dec. with a rank of purple. I stopped training for along time due to unexpected things. As time went by and I made a change in life, job and state. I search for a Kenpo school to begin training again. I found a school close to home where I live and the master gave me the okay to wear my 1st degree brown belt. All this happened in 2006 of Sep. I've been training under 9th degree Master Tony Martinez Sr. in West Valley City,UT. studio. He gave me the honor to test for Black Belt in Dec. of this year. I'm truly thankful to the art and the opportunity to train with such great men.Just recently started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to help compliment my Kenpo skills.Check out my blog: Rey..'s Mat
