"SUCCESS IS NOT FINAL, FAILURE IS NOT FATAL, IT IS THE COURAGE TO CONTINUE THAT COUNTS." -Sir Winston ChurchillMy favorite interest is discovery...that moment of growth that can't be undone...I like to learn, so feel free to teach me something.
An attractive girl with a caring spirit. Someone cute, smart, fun, and not a psycho! =)Maybe someone willing to wander the world on life's adventures!
All music can be awesome depending on the moment or perhaps the culture and place. Some music you can create yourself, like the sound of your heartbeat and breathing... or nature as the sea touches the shore or the rain dances on the leaves...My music is when someone has a really nice voice.
Lost Horizon, Key Largo, Macao, Roman Holiday, The Third Man, Tiger Bay (from 1956, it was on the late night classic channel and it rocked!), Casablanca is also a film I relate to more then I'd like. To Catch A Thief (those old Hitchcock flicks work for me as I can really relate to those falsely accused innocent man characters! I remember in sixth grade this guy Richie said I took his lunch money but it was in his cubby hole under his slippers the whole time...), The Mask Of Zorro (Catherine Zeta Jones must have a single sister right?), Also liked the first Matrix, The Last Samurai was the first film I saw when I came home from Iraq. The Twilight Samurai, from Japan, is worth a look as a companion piece. Elf is the Christmas classic of the 21st century. Since I've coached fighters, Million Dollar Baby really affected me. In that situation though I know I would not have helped someone die. I was asked by a friend if I would pull the plug for them last year and though I was honored that they trusted me to be the one...I just value life too much. At the same time that is what we can get from a good film...a chance to examine our own values. "EL CID" is a classic that illustrates values of honor and personal integrity within the framework of a true historical figure. Along those lines a natural resonance was found recently in "The 300"...but that is a long story.
"Navy NCIS" The characters relate to each other with humor and are each allowed to be unique individuals. Hmmm, I enjoy the History channel...and from the movies section it must be obvious that I also sometimes watch TCM late at night!
If there's an all time favorite of yours, I want to hear about it. As a kid I liked adventures like the CURIOUS GEORGE books, The Red Badge Of Courage, 20,000,000 Leagues Under The Sea, A Tale Of Two Cities, Treasure Island, and the World Book Encyclopedia. Encyclopedia Brown series was always a favorite as well. I'm still a regular reader but I switch back and forth between novels and non-fiction.
My grandparents and my folks, they set the bar on what a lifelong relationship should be like. A blessing to be raised in, but hard to find or live up to!!! Definately they taught me that the real thing is not 50%-50%; it is 100% on both sides! You have to take up the slack when the other person loses their job or fights cancer. In the real deal it's all the way...but you never have to look back. I see a truly loving and faithfull life long relationship as one of the greatest successes a human being can have along with finding their spiritual path. I might never have one, but I honor those who do.
