my years have provided me with some of the proudest occasions, some of the most tender experiences, some of the funniest moments.......and some of the most heart-breaking truths... and ..... gradually.....moments of wisdom....
A Prophet once said....."When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight." Joy and Sorrow are inseparable.
In December of 2006 I retired from a great job I'd had for 25 years in the dental field. It was "My Turn, My Time to fulfill some of my passions." Until then, I didn't really know what Janis Joplin meant when she sang Kris Kristofferson's song "Me & Bobby McGee" .... about "Freedom's just another word when there's nothing left to lose". Experience, wisdom, age, has taught me "there is no way of getting all you want...you can't have anything unless you let go of it.....you only get to keep what you give away...." so .........
I sold my house, gave away my furniture and minimized my life in every way....putting all I own into a 22' RV that I call "Phoebe McGee". It's just me and Phoebe McGee and my black pug, named TaZzi.
From January 2007 to date (June 2008),we put on 30,000 delicious miles in Phoebe .....we were in all but 4 states and hit 4 Provinces of Canada.
My full time job is to travel, to see old friends, meet new ones, to hear as much music as possible, to have as many adventures my body and soul can endure! Heroes are of myth and legend....We don't really know anyone...No one is any stronger or any weaker than anyone else....Everyone is, in their own way, vulnerable...There are No Great People......We all sit on the toilet, have picked our noses, we all fart, we all mess up......If you have a hero, look again; you may have diminished yourself in some way....Everyone lies, cheats, pretends (yes, you too, and most certainly I myself).I admire many.....respect many......I'm inspired by many....But~No~Heroes!
