About Me

Born July 9, 1923 to Christopher Bard and Lucy Alice Adams. He had eight brothers and one sister. He was the first member of family to graduate high school. Drafted into Army Infantry, WWII. Served with the 88th Infantry Division "Blue Devils" in North Africa and Italy, the only army to take Rome from the south. Was wounded and was awarded the Purple Heart medal. Married Anina Mae Porter on June 22, 1946. (This was orchestrated by brother Eddie and his wife Julia, who was also Anina's aunt.) Was father to Kenneth Allan Adams (1948) and Craig Thomas Adams (1952). Built the family home in Wrightstown PA (1959). Retired from carpenter/cabinet maker position Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (Bristol PA) in 1981 after thirty years. Moved to Norfolk VA and worked for the Howard Johnson hotel (now the Radisson) until 1995. (He constructed a series of miniature houses for the hotel Christmas display.) Passed away on December 17, 2007Memorial gifts many be made to Drepung Loseling Educational Fund, 2092 Vista Dale Court, Atlanta GA 30084. This is the American headquarters for the Tibetan monks who tour the U.S., making mandalas, and performing rituals to broaden our understanding of this religious practice and the plight of the Tibetan people.
