I think it's pretty accurate.I live in the Gaslamp District in San Diego. I grew up in La Jolla. Yes I was a cheerleader. After High School I went to UCSB where i dabbled in Anatomy but got my BFA in Theatre with an Acting Emphasis. Then I went to CalArts for Grad School, where I got an MFA in Acting. )I was the hostess with the mostest for the "Kat Scratch Feva Show" (Karaoke at the world famous Barney's Beanery, Santa Monica Promenade) Every Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday night for 2005-2006. Then I parted ways from this fantastically fun and lucrative job to actually do what I got my MFA from CalArts in, Acting.I played Clara/Nemret in Filamrnt Theater Co.'s original production of "Termen Vox Machina", which ran at the Sacred Fools Theater In Hollywood. It was an amazing experience. Catch the abbreviated youtube version.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aPMDkgNCUcI love the theatre. I can't live without it.I live life to the fullest. If it doesnt make you happy you're wasting you're time.I love to travel! In the past 5 years(outside the US alone) I've been to England, France, Scotland (twice), The Bahamas, The Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, and Mexico! Nothing is more exciting than traveling and meeting new people in different places. Well, except maybe theater. And when all else fails, move to glorious San Diego.Check Out Filament Theater Co. There's a handy link to our latest theatrical venture here on my top 8.I traveled to Dijon, France with an all female prouction of King Lear by the Center for New Theater, LA. We performed this show in Downtown LA the previous Year (2002) at the Brewery Arts Complex, and gained the cover of the LA Times Calendar. In summer 0f 2004 CalArts sponsored my one person show, True or False, to travel as a featured production to the Edinburgh Fringe festival at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama's Venue.I am currently writing a new production entitled "A Family Affair" (haha, UCSB BFA Kids)About scenes from my family holiday gatherings. I am a founding member of Filament Theater Co. Janice Dickenson. That bitch is fierce!!!!My Mom. My dad. and my Great-Grandfather!History In 1939, Dr. Alton Ochsner discovered the link between tobacco and lung cancer. He continued his legacy in 1942 when he, along with four physicians, established Ochsner, the first multi-specialty group practice in the South "Actors are some of the most driven, courageous people on the face of the earth. They deal with more day to day rejection in one year than most people do in a lifetime. Every day, actors face the financial challenge of living a freelance lifestyle, the disrespect of people who think they should get 'real jobs', and their own fear that they'll never work again. Every day they have to ignore the possibility that the vision to which they have dedicated their lives is a pipe dream. With every passing year, many of them watch as the other people their age achieve the predictable milestones of normal life - the car, the family, the house, the nest egg. But they stay true to their dream in spite of sacrafices. Why? Because actors are willing to give their entire lives to a moment - to that line, that gesture, or that interpretation that will stir the audience's soul. Actors are beings who have tasted life's nectar in that crystal moment when they poured out their creative spirit and touched another's heart. In that instant, they were as close to magic, God, and perfection as anyone could ever be. And in their own hearts, they know that to dedicate onself to that moment is worth a thousand life times."-David Ackert, Los AngelesTHIS IS BRILLIANT...
