Live It Like You Love It!

About Me

I am Michela. I am 28. I am short both in height and in temper! I work at Newcastle University Union, in the Entertainments office, where you find me nestled behind two computers working as Head of Events and Publicity. In this role I book bands and DJs, get excited about music, I create publicity, I no longer smoke so I'm swearing even more these days. And developing worrying OCD's a la Nana Moon. Not good. I enjoy living life to the full which often gets me into japes and scrapes aplenty and I am a total music anorak which I do not deny. If you ever see me out and about, mines a Jack and (diet) coke...Ta xxI get myspace layouts at UltimateMySpace.com. Get this layout

My Interests

Music, Music, music and erm...music! Love my gigs and clubs and spending my money on extending my ever-growing music collection.I also like - having a laugh and talking nonsense with my collection of ace mates, going out and getting messy, The Mighty Boosh, long walks, my hamster Bootsy, starry nights, cinema visits, the countryside, warm weather (dream on in Newcastle!), Jack Daniels, dancing my socks off, random and impromtu parties, giving and receiving presents, dogs - I especially like dogs jumping and dogs doing anything vaguely human...all of my friends know this and frequently send me emails or postcards displaying this, good comedy, Ebay bargains, Vodka Red Bull, monkeys - especially northern ones, photography, reading, DJing, going to different cities, sarcasm, swimming, 60's and 70's retro items, the noise a kazoo makes, the feeling when you get into your own bed after a heavy night on the tiles, cuddles, good food, singing and dancing in a way that some might feel is uncool but I don't give a chuff, laughing so much that it hurts, extending my trainer and shoe collection, festivals, red wine (spells danger), learning new things and Galaxy Ripples...I am a sucker for a cowbell too and it is my lifelong ambition to join a band and be chief cowbell. Although, after seeing the magical, mysterious Reactable that Bjork used at Glasto, I want to learn how to play that mother! Check out the vid, its like a musical scrabble board! Genius x

I'd like to meet:

People who can make me laugh, people who like to dance, people who can do both. People who have interesting stories to tell. Bill Murray as he always was my favourite Ghostbuster. Bjork...Just because she is totally inspiring, amazing and quite possibly the most amazing thing I have ever seen live - check this out! Ian Brown so I can thank him for the music - I'm lucky enough to have been able to meet a lot of my musical heroes but not him yet. Similarly Kraftwerk, so I can see if they are real or indeed robots and New Order, even though I'm slightly afraid of Hooky. I would love to meet James Murphy as I think he is a latter day genius.Bob Mortimer as he doesn't have to say much to make me giggle. Keith Richards so I can ask advice on how to grow old disgracefully. The cat from Scotland I've heard about that can scratch and do spinbacks (he does exist!!!) Paris Hilton so I can repeatedly slap her forehead in a Japanese water torture stylee until she combusts leaving the world free of her vacuous and pointless existence. Uncle Albert from Only Fools & Horses, just 'cos. Oh and the guy in the orange T-Shirt on this....
..

Music:

Grrrr...listing 'em all could take forever! I will get round to it one day, I'm sure of that...Erm. For now, all you need to know is that I only like one type of music - good music! One band I love is...This band also rules...

Television:

The Mighty Boosh, Life on Mars, Shameless, Nathan Barley, Spaced, Peep Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Teachers, The Culture Show, League of Gentlemen, Father Ted, Alan Partridge, Scrubs, owt with David Attenborough, Ray Mears, Bear Grylls, or Chris Morris and interesting and informative documentaries - usually music related.

Heroes:

My Mam, John Peel, New OrderKraftwerkPrince, Jon Carter, The Charlatans, Bjork, Ian Brown, Ian Curtis, Joe Strummer, Bill Murray, Debbie Harry, David Attenborough, Banksy, Jarvis Cocker and not forgetting Noel Fielding & Julian Barratt

Obligatory Glasto blog, a la Michela x

Well folks, this time last week I was donning waterproofs and trekking through quicksandesque mud! Now I'm back at work, bored and disappointed that Glastonbury 2007 is over and all I have are my ace ...

That was the Arcane that was...

So thats Arcane over and done with...Its always mad as I spend the whole term and more meticulously (is that a word?) planning and working towards Arcane and before you know it it is suddenly upon you...

Well...I'm going to Glastonbury, but...

...I've got to get the coach there and back. Joyous. I adore coaches. No honestly, I do. This year's Glastonbury ticket chaos was particularly annoying. Not a patch on the 23Hour Phone Marathon of 200...
