About Me

I'm Joe... :) I'm a musician/music teacher in the East Bay Area. I work with the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps (from Concord, CA), the Amador Valley H.S. Band Program (in Pleasanton, CA), and this year I will begin working with Music Smarts - an independent music studio in Livermore, CA. A while back, I spent 5 years traveling with the Broadway show "Blast" (from '99-'04), and I was lucky enough to perform the show in London, Tokyo, New York (on Broadway), and all over the U.S.... the cast consists of musicians and dancers (I play trombone, euphonium and percussion), and I was really fortunate to have worked with so many incredibly talented people! My Interests

Music, Drum Corps (the two ARE different), Movies, Sports, and of course having good times with friends and family.

I'd like to meet:

Tom Hanks, John Williams, Steve Young, Charlize Theron, and Will Ferrell to name a few... and I'm always down to meet new people and make new friends. My favorite people are those that are incredibly talented - to the point that they could be self-absorbed and self-centered - but who are down to earth or even humble.

Music:

DMB, Ozomatli, Incubus, Jurassic 5, and a TON of other stuff...

Movies:

I like way too many movies to name them all, but here are just a few of my favorites (not in any order): Gladiator, Ocean's 11+12(+13?), Usual Suspects, Liar Liar, Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, Eddie Izzard, Blazing Saddles, Pulp Fiction, The Life Aquatic w/ Steve Zissou, LOTR trilogy, Wedding Crashers, Road to Perdition, Forty Year Old Virgin, Shawshank Redemption... you get the idea!

Television:

Sportscenter (and almost all sporting events), Arrested Development, Family Guy, Lost, Entourage, and whatever else is isn't lame!

Books:

3 Nights in August, by Buzz Bissinger - John Meehan lent me his copy... it's a book that follows the life of St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa through a 3 game series with the Chicago Cubs. I've just started it, and I can tell I'm gonna love it! Next on the list is Moneyball...
