People who are as obsessed with Vikings as I am.
Anyone else who was totally born in the wrong century.
Stephen Hawking.
People who don't treat animals like shit.
Those who admire our planet's natural beauty and wish to prolong, preserve, and protect it.
Our world is an amazing place. As of now, it is the only planet we are aware of in our entire solar system that supports life. But for some reason, many of you and billions of others feel the need to constantly murder and slaughter the other creatures worthy of life that share this world with us. We are always quick to protest the genocide of humans in other countries, yet we fail to recognize or protest the genocide occuring in our own states. It is illegal WORLDWIDE to torture an individual for information, etc., yet we allow slaughterhouses to maim, brutalize, torture, beat, and murder animals. Our government turns its other cheek when it comes to enforcing codes of conduct for slaughterhouses. ANIMALS ARE KILLED IN SLAUGHTERHOUSES WITH METHODS SUCH AS BLEEDING, BEATING, AND ANAL ELECTROCUTION. Most of the time, these processess need to be repeated in order to kill the animal because the initial process DOESN'T KILL THEM. Do you support these practices because you don't care? Is it because you don't believe these creatures are worthy of life? Well, as with humans, they are given the precious gift of life for the sole purpose of living it. Not to be slaughtered for food, or entertainment. Cherish your life and the life of all else. Its an incredibly precious thing, and no matter what your species, you only have one to live. You have a right to such a gift, so be thankful of this and do not deny that right to ANYTHING ELSE.
"Of all the creatures ever made, man is the most detestable. He's the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain." - Mark Twain
"As often as [he] had witnessed the slaughter of animals and fish, he always had the same though: In their behavior toward creatures, all men were Nazis. The smugness with which man could do with other species as he pleased exemplified the most extreme racist theories...the principle that might is right." - Isaac Bashevis Singer
"Auschwitz begins wherever someone looks at a slaughterhouse and thinks: they're only animals." - Theodor Adorno (1903-1969), German Jewish
philosopher forced into exile by the Nazis
"Isn't man an amazing animal? He kills wildlife - birds, kangaroos, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice, foxes and dingoes - by the million in order to protect his domestic animals and their feed. Then he kills domestic animals by the billion and eats them. This in turn kills man by the millions, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative - and fatal - health conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer. So then man tortures and kills millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases. Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently, and once a year, sends out cards praying for Peace on Earth." - David Coats, Old MacDonald's Factory Farm
"I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men." - Leonardo Da Vinci
"Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." - Albert Einstein
"About 2,000 pounds of grains must be supplied to livestock in order to produce enough meat and other livestock products to support a person for a year, whereas 400 pounds of grain eaten directly will support a person for a year. Thus, a given quantity of grain eaten directly will feed 5 times as many people as it will if it is eaten indirectly by humans in the form of livestock products." - M.E. Ensminger, Ph.D.
"I don't understand why asking people to eat a well-balanced vegetarian diet is considered drastic, while it is medically conservative to cut people open." - Dean Ornish, M.D.
"I think the evidence is pretty clear. If you look at various characteristics of carnivores versus herbivores, it doesn't take a genius to see where humans line up." - William C. Roberts, Editor in Chief, American Journal of Cardiology [Statement in support of his view that humans are not physiologically designed to eat meat]
"When non-vegetarians say that human problems come first, I cannot help wondering what exactly it is that they are doing for human beings that compels them to continue to support the wasteful, ruthless exploitation of farmed animals." - Dr. Peter Singer
