Always Bet On Red

About Me

Just recently finished my first of many years on the path of graduate school heading towards my PhD in social/cultural anthropology. My intended focus is sociality in online games, but who knows if or how I'll actually end up studying that. The question is at least as much fun as the answer, right?I founded the Frag Dolls in 2004 and wasn't sure where it would lead. I've traveled awesome places, met interesting people, and gotten to spend hours upon hours playing games and geeking out, but by far the best part of being a Frag Doll has been getting to know my girls.I live a charmed life. I cherish the people and animals in my life. I am both an Olympic sleeper and an endorphin junky. Otherwise, I can be simply describes as a passionate nerd about music, food (especially cheese and sushi), gardening, folklore, jeans, skincare products, wildlife, my cats, fantasy and sci-fi, games, psychology, people, and the curious things we do.
The following links represent some of the cool things I am associated with, and some are random interests for randomness sake:
Kallah Maguire, one of my best friends and my awesome stylist Juice Beauty, my latest paraben-free skin-care line (I'm a skin care junkie) Assassin's Creed quality sushi in San Francisco Fireball Ministry Terra Nova (an especially geeky indulgence) Alphonse Mucha, my favorite artist. Art Nouveau FTW

Ten thousand forms, one suchness.

My Interests

Gypsy music and culture, quality naptime, good food, good wine, sushi, animals of all sorts, geeky fantasy fiction, new music recommendations, running, music that gets stuck in my head, overgrown gardens, jeans, $10 sunglasses, hoodies, triathlons, the ocean, macaroni and cheese, funk bass, people who know how to chill, fuzzy slippers, impulsive trysts with macrobiotics, and, um, video games...

The Guitar Zeros

Ever since the original Guitar Hero came out a year and a half ago I haven't been shy about putting the 'fan' in 'fanatic' over this game. So it shouldn't surprise anyone that I was in the front row w...

Gaming Is A Sport

I'm starting to think that I get caught up in this debate more than your average pro-gamer.  I've happily argued both sides, mostly because I enjoy playing devil's advocate in any debate, but it'...

Guitar Heroine

I am utterly and hopelessly addicted. Guitar Hero has me so tightly wrapped around it's orange-striking pinky finger that I can hardly go an hour without talking to someone about it if not playing. Ev...
