I count myself as very fortunate as I began my career as a photographer at Renaissance Festivals. I have been learning the various aspects of this field through practical application for many years, but it is there that I truly discovered how much I love it. *smile* Using Renaissance Festivals as my favorite hunting ground for subjects allows me to work, learn, and have fun at the same time. I have met some amazing people through this and when a couple of them mentioned that they were keeping in contact through My Space I thought, "What a great idea!" and so here I am! Huzzah for Ren friends!!!
I am currently learning all the technical aspects of photography versus my own personal random artistic approach through the New York Institute of Photography. I am enjoying myself tremendously and have been challenged greatly by the wide variety of assignments which has taken me far out of my normal realm of chosen subjects. Yes . . . I ENJOY learning . . . even just for the sake of the knowledge itself. I ended up graduating with 2 majors and . . . heh . . . 6 minors . . . In my brain is a compilation of aimless minutia. *laughing* (I have siblings who absolutely REFUSE to play trivial pursuit with me *evil grin*)
And . . . oh yeah . . . Cera is Gaelic . . . so it's NOT pronounced as Sarah or Kara . . . it's pronounced as KIERA (as in Kiera Knightly, her's is the English spelling and mine is the Irish spelling). Thank you. It is also one of the OLDEST names still being used. And for those who are really ambitious, Cerarienh is pronounced as keer-arheen. It's actually 2 names mushed together, Cera and Arienh . . . and if you have a problem with it talk to my parents about their inability to make up their minds when naming me. Because yes . . . this is the Gaelic translation of my real middle name . . . yep . . . Oh yeah . . and depending on what version of Gaelic you use it means different things. The definition that I tend to stick to is "bright red sacred creature of fire" so yeah . . . Red Dragon or Demonbrat . . . take your pick.
Anyone who knows me knows that the joust is my favorite part of Faire, both as a patron and as a photographer. Here are links to the websites of the two joust companies that I have been fortunate enough to photograph and be entertained by.
The Hanlon-Lees Action Theater performs at my home faire and I have a TON of shots of them from the past 3 seasons (2005-2007). Some of the photos that I took of them appear on their website. H-LAT was the first company to use my photos. (Thanks you guys!!!! I love you!!!) *giant grin* Click on the banner link below to go to visit their official website.
I am fortunate enough that at least one person in the H-LAT hierarchy likes me *wink* and I was allowed to start a Friends of H-LAT myspace. Feel free to add us! Click on the link below to see the site.
