About Me

Born in Vienna 1970, Reinhard Micko formed his Trio in 1994. After first steps and a debut CD with Karl Sayer (bass) and Uli Soyka (drums), Reinhard Micko played with Peter Herbert (bass) and Wolgang Reisinger (drums) in his second Trio which is documented on the CD "TOUCH". His current co-musicians are Matthias Pichler on bass and Klemens Marktl on drums. In 2007 they released a new recording, "VIEWS". A concert at the Porgy and Bess in Vienna, Austria, was recorded and filmed, you can find the videos on youtube. "His extraordinarily keen sense of harmony and a passionate commitment to genuine improvisation - always true to the inner ear - lend the necessary urge and authenticity to his often melancholic compositions." (Wolfgang Muthspiel, 2000) "In tunes like "Why 2K", it is this focus on expression that allows Micko to generate ideas whose organic and structural plausibility belie their spontanous conception." (Andreas Felber, 2006)
