EL CHUPACABRA is a Panay-based band. Representing the United Districts of the City of Love ILOILO CITY. It is composed of Denny as the handsome vocalist, Genill on guitars, Kurt "Alog" on Bass, and nevertheless Paolo Miguel Tiangha on the Drums. Most of them started as a member of different bands. Denny from SWITCHJARZ "gulpak", Paolo from a different band, Genill and Alog from "SLOUGH".
After having their former vocalist ton2 "MAN" expelled from the band to Manila, genill and alog (both SLOUGH members) decided to look for another vocalist. Ending up having Donna as their new Vocalist and Jun "lupot" (their former drummer) as their drummer.
With the hectic schedules of both donna and jun, the band end up with the Denny, Alog, Genill and Paolo line up. Having POCHOLOS as their brand name. The band did Gigs inside and oustide the City.. Doing everything like compositions and embarrassing their own selves in from of hundreds of POPS and MOMS with a big "???" in their heads asking "what are they doing???".
Since the band clicked out for their own good(if not for everybody's good), they decided up to pursue making their own music(FREAK, ACCIDENTAL) and advertising the Kick-Ass Music scene of ILOILO... Changing their name to "CHUPACABRA" ..
It is not as bad as the word means for some ilonggos.. It means a "GOAT OR A MONSTER/LEGENDARY kind of DEMON from other countries like "KILID UY".
