I am here for Friends

About Me

Happily married, I work a lot. A few years back, I made a bunch of short movies and now I own a comic book store and work as a web developer at the website design firm that did The RemDawg's website . I spend a remarkable amount of time in front of computers doing foolish things like this which will either amuse the Hell out of you, or make you wonder "why?"

I have 114 friends. I will always have 114 friends. I think that's where I max out. If you wanna get on the list, I'll wonder why... but you'd better know me. I'm not here to support your band, your movie, or you. I'm here to keep in touch with friends old and new.

My Interests

Writing, Movies, music, beer, comics, art, Red Sox, and getting into long talks about science, sex, religion, politics, sociology or any of the aforementioned topics.

Music:

Local Favorites: Sixth Root

Current Favorites: Kate Nash, CSS, Blonde Redhead, Yeasayer, Amy Winehouse, Against Me, Trembling Blue Stars, Timbaland, Arcade Fire, Mute Math

Old Favorites: REM, Pearl Jam, Placebo, Liz Phair, Sinth; Sinéad O'Connor, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jimmy Eat World, Madonna, Midnight Oil, INXS, U2, Peter Gabriel, The Fixx, Pearl Jam and lots of other alterna-pop style stuff. I love the 80's/early 90's.

Movies:

Too many to list. If it's sci-fi with a very real heart or trashy horror/exploitation, it's probably among my favorites.

Television:

I think HBO changed dramatic television into something better than the movies. Most of my TV time is watching The Red Sox on NESN. Otherwise I'm catching Lost, 24, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under on DVD.

Books:

I like to read, but do so in sporadic fits, without any attention paid to genre. I cannot quote from texts.

Heroes:

My dad, Barry Santo. My mom, Rose Santo. My wife, Sheri Santo. My in-laws, Marilyn and Steve Carter. Roman Berman, my best friend, because he always sticks by me. (There... you happy now, Bobby?)

Stephen King, William Sleator, John Irving, Ray Bradbury, John Carpenter, Robert Zemeckis, FDR, Olympic Gold Medalist and WWE World champion Kurt Angle, and the Food Network's main man, Alton Brown.

So the rules are, once you've been tagged you have to write a blog with 6 weird/things/habits about yourself. In the end you need to list 6 other people to tag and list their names. Don't forget to le...

A Gift Too Precious

It's that old wive's tale, passed down from generation to generation of superstitious types. Bad things happen in three's. I'm uncertain about the validity of it, but coincidentally three deaths occur...

The Business Trip

When I cut my cheek shaving this morning, I had a feeling it was going to be a rough day. Not as rough as it actually turned out to be, but perhaps not nearly as smooth as most of the days I've had at...

Thank You

After months worth of doldrums pounding me into black moods and inspiring far too many self-loathing journal entries, I'm fighting back. Whether this charcoal disposition is the product of chemical im...

The Return

After a day during which she described herself as "meatloaf," Sheri returned to fighting form and attacked the pre-Thanksgiving cleaning that needed to happen here at Casa de Santo. Anyone who doubts ...

She Can't Always be Invincible

In The Exorcist, while the pair of priests work diligently at trying to draw the demon out of Regan, her mother waits downstairs feeling useless, probably interpreting every sound she hears from Regan...

Dark Days

I haven't been around much, of late. Neither here nor there. I'm pretty listless, and I find I'm happiest when I'm reading, immersing myself in lands and spaces far from here. I love Dover. Leading pe...
