About Me

Eric Gustafson is a Guitarist/Producer/Composer/Background Vocalist/Bassist living in Los Angeles, CA. He plays all styles of music, and specializes in Pop, Rock, and R&B with an always-tasteful approach to playing guitar.

His recording experience/credits include playing guitar (Electric and Acoustic) on Steph Pockets’ album “Can’t Give Up” released on JVC in 2007. The "Can't Give Up" single featuring Speech from Arrested Development, and Eric Gustafson on guitar. In a short period of time, that album became the 7th Best Selling Hip Hop Album in Japan. Eric has also written songs and produced with artists such as Airin McClain – “Mixed Productions”.

His live performance credits include playing guitar for the Steph Pockets “Flowers Tour” in Japan that included a stop at the “Summer Sonic Festival 2005” where he was sharing the stage with Nine Inch Nails, Duran Duran, Oasis, Weezer, and The Black Crowes, as well as performing at other venues in Tokyo. Later that year, Eric went on the road again with Steph Pockets. Except this time he was playing at the World-Renowned Blue Note venues in Osaka and Nagoya.

Even with all the touring overseas he still found time to play guitar for Entertainment Companies such as The Music Alternative and CTO World Entertainment performing in NYC, Philadelphia, and Atlantic City. In Philadelphia he performed with many premier musicians such as Chuck Treece (Billy Joel, Dr. Dre, G Love). Throughout this time Eric studied with the great jazz pianist Jimmy Amadie. His music instructional credits include guitar instruction through private guitar lessons in the Philadelphia area.
His Television/Film appearances include ABC's "Boston Legal", Comcast CN8's "Your Morning", and appearing as the guitarist for Trace Adkins in the soon to be released motion picture "An American Carol" directed by David Zucker (Airplane, The Naked Gun).

In 2006, he started an internship at Larry Gold's “The Studio” in Philadelphia, PA learning about production from assisting on sessions with Dave Tozer (Co-Producer for John Legend, Heather Headley, and Natasha Bedingfield).

Some praise for Eric Gustafson:

"the Future, (NOW)....." - Jef Lee Johnson

"Eric Gustafson is one of the most talented guitarist/composers that I've ever heard. It was a pleasure to have him accompany me to tour throughout Japan. And an honor to record with him in the studio for both of my most recent album releases. I'm looking forward to touring and getting back into the studio with him." - Stephanie "Steph Pockets" Fountain

"Eric G. is a talented, dedicated, musician whose versatility enables him to play many eclectic styles of music. When Eric plays you can see, hear and feel the intensity in his heart. His appreciation and enthusiasm for composing GREAT MUSIC is so inspiring. I look forward to hitting the road with him and the band this March as we travel to Shanghai, China!" – Airin McClain
