Daffy Dive Co.

My name is Kim, some know me as Kayla, but to everyone Im a little bit Daffy.Daffy Dive Co is my "project" I dont want to call it a business because people get the wrong idea... Its my students, my friends, dive buddies, and anyone that dives with us.I am a PADI MSDT (master scuba diver trainer), I teach everything from Beginner to Professional Classes and Specialties ranging from Deep diving, Multilevel diving, Dry Suit diving, and Night Diving as well as Advanced Oxygen First Aid and AED distinctive specialties (to name the cool ones)The Story Behind My Diving... I learned to dive when I was 12, at a summer camp in florida called Sea Camp Marine Institute. It was a SCUBA and Marine Biology summer camp. Dorky I know. But it was amazing. Scuba wasnt something I was great at to start. I wasnt really a fish until I learned to dive. I loved to swim but my stamina rarely let me go strong for long. Thanks to the instructors who taught me I overcame my fears and anxieties and completed not only my junior open water but my junior advanced diver certifications there too.From there I traveled a lot each summer and had completed my rescue certification at 15. After the age of 16, I lost scuba as a dominant part of my life for a little while and ended up in Los Angeles, Southern California being a place I always heard about great diving, I turned back to diving for rejuvenation and the happiness it had always given me. Being an Instructor gives me the ability to give back what I have learned along the way, and be an instrument in what I believe to be a live changing hobby...lets face it, scuba isnt golf!As corny as it sounds Scuba has done a whole lot more for my life than most things. The best times in my life, scuba diving influenced greatly.I love what I do completely, and am so proud to work for Eco Dive Center in Culver City CA. I work part time in the actual dive shop and spend my weekends teaching with the rest of Eco's World Class Staff.I am the kind of instructor who is excited every time I breathe on scuba, or get on a boat, or giant stride into the water, I make my classes more exciting and do my best to enrich the lives of my students. I try to give more to my students than a class, its a lifestyle i live, bringing people into the water is like bringing someone into my home, I show it to them with care and pride.
