About Me
"Don't be afraid... Taste everything... Sometimes I think we only half live over here. The Italians live all the way."

________The Values of Rationals:Rationals want to understand the operating principles of the universe and to learn or even develop theories for everything. They value expertise, logical consistency, concepts, and ideas and seek progress. They tend toward pragmatic, utilitarian actions with a technology focus. They trust logic above all else. They tend to be skeptical and highly value precision in language. Their learning style is conceptual, and they want to know the underlying principles that generate the details and facts rather than the details alone.______________________________________________________
_____As Rationals grow up, their pursuit of knowledge leads them to grapple with an ever-widening range of complex problems. Whether the problem is one of engineering or of coordination operations, Rationals consider problems... and they will persist in their search for models and maps, for paradigms and algorithms, with which to construe and attack these problems.___________________________________________________
________Rationals tend to be pragmatic, skeptical, self-contained, and focused on problem-solving and systems analysis.
Rationals pride themselves on being ingenious, independent, and strong willed. INTPs are always so mentally active that they continually delve into new interests, & the interests of an INTP would be enough to occupy her for several lifetimes if that were possible.Rationals make reasonable mates, individualizing parents, and strategic leaders.____________________________________________________
_______Problem-solving is a twenty-four hour occupation, and if they don't have a problem to work on they will actually set one for themselves as a way of exercising their skills.....Rationals have a good many should-knows itemized in massive lists inside their heads. And although they can concentrate fully on one thing at a time, they are inclined to accumulate more and more useful knowledge, rarely deleting or forgetting any, and to work continually on solutions to the many problems that intrigue them._______________________________________________________
____The INTP is often satisfied simply by knowing that he could do something if he wished. Humour is another aspect which marks out the INTP. He can readily dream up jokes about almost any situation. Taking things out of context is the chief source of humour and many a Rational is a Monty Pythonite.Needless to say, the humour of an INTP can be pretty zany and warped and may not be understood easily by others. If you see someone smirking and laughing at some private thought, without any obvious reason, he's probably an INTP. INTPs may however make good comedy writers, with the humour of Woody Allen being particularly liked.______________________________________________________
_____INTPs' extraverted intuition often gives them a quick wit, especially with language, and they can defuse the tension in gatherings by comical observations and references. They can be charming, even in their quiet reserve, and are sometimes surprised by the high esteem in which their friends and colleagues hold them._______________________________________________________
____Rationals tend to have a wide set of interests, and they care little whether others understand or accept their ideas. Where the Mastermind Rationals are would-be masters of order, the Architect Rationals are masters of organization.Their reserve is difficult to penetrate. For all these reasons, INTPs are often seen as difficult to know, and are seldom perceived at their true level of competency. Architect-Rationals can also become obsessed with analysis. Once caught up in a thought process, that process seems to have a will of its own, and they persevere until they comprehend the issue in all its complexity. Moreover, once INTPs know something, they remember it.They will listen to amateurs if their ideas are useful, and will ignore the experts if theirs are not.________________________________________________________
___Architects exhibit the greatest precision in thought and language of all the types. They tend to see inconsistencies in thought and language instantaneously, and can detect contradictions in statements no matter when or where the statements were made. The INTP can fit into many different modes of behaviour, even contradictory ones, in order to get into the mindset of the other person._____________________________________________________
______They are inclined to be shy except with close friends, and their reserve is difficult to penetrate. Able to concentrate better than any other type, they prefer to work quietly at their computers or drafting tables, and often alone. Architects also become obsessed with analysis, and this can seem to shut others out. Once caught up in a thought process, Architects close off and persevere until they comprehend the issue in all its complexity.Only sentences that are coherent carry weight with them, and thus authority derived from office, credential or celebrity does not impress them.... If left to their own devices, Rationals will retreat into the world of books and emerge only when physical needs become imperative... are even-tempered, compliant, and easy to live with -- that is, until one of their principles is violated, in which case their adaptability ceases altogher.___________________________________________________
________Rationals have an insatiable hunger to accomplish their goals and will work tirelessly on any project they have set their mind to. They are rigorously logical and fiercely independent in their thinking -- are indeed skeptical of all ideas, even their own -- and they believe they can overcome any obstacle with their will power. Often they are seen as cold and distant, but this is really the absorbed concentration they give to whatever problem they're working on. Whether designing a skyscraper or an experiment, developing a theory or a prototype technology, building an aircraft, a corporation, or a strategic alliance, Rationals value intelligence, in themselves and others, and they pride themselves on the ingenuity they bring to their problem solving.____________________________________________________
_______Rationals are very scarce, comprising as little as one percent of the population. But because of their drive to unlock the secrets of nature, and to develop new technologies, they have done much to shape our world.Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Bill Gates, Margaret Thatcher, Walt Disney, Camille Paglia, Ayn Rand, Thomas Jefferson, and General Ulysses S. Grant and President Dwight D. Eisenhower are examples of Rationals.Architect-Rationals are devoted parents; they enjoy children, and are very serious about their upbringing. Each of their children is treated as a rational individual, with rights, privileges, and as much autonomy as that child can handle safely. They encourage their children to take responsibility for their own lives and to chart their own course. They do not visit thier own expectations on their children and never attack them physically or verbally.Rationals live according to their own laws, and they respect themselves in the degree that they act independently, free of all coercion.Indeed, they prefer to ignore any law, regulation, or convention that does not make sense to them, though they are willing to obey those that do._________________________________________________________
__From an early age Rationals will not accept anyone else's ideas without first scrutinizing them for error. It doesn't matter whether the person is a widely accepted authority or not; the fact that a so-called "expert" proclaims something leaves the Rationals indifferent. Title, reputation, and credentials do not matter. Ideas must stand on their own merits, and NTs simply do not trust anyone else to have done the necessary research and applied the rules of logic adequately._________________________________________________
__________Self-respecting rationals want to be self-directed and self-determined, and their own occasional lapse into dependency is thier only source of guilt.... Of all the traits of character that set Rationals apart -- and at the same time group them together -- it is their lifelong search for knowledge.
