Fueled by a genuine passion for musical performace and an unbridled drive to be heard, Mindset Evolution is stomp-rock groovin, body movin, poetic noise polution. Through dint of brow, precisely executed marketing and tireless self-promotion, this group has quickly gained recognition as the premier musical act in Central Illinois and beyond. Their live show, a mesmerizing, unforgettable, energized experience will leave you gasping for breath and thirsting for more. Their hope is that by pouring their very souls into every aspect of their musicianship and performance that they can share a piece of themselves with each individual and somehow impart to them a personal connection to the emotion behind the music. Original members include wordsmith Rob Ulrich, Central Illinois Guitar Center Drum-Off Champion Josh Blue behind the kit, guitarist Brad Prentice, and bassist Josh Bodeen. Early in 2006 the group expanded to include DJ Bang Nine, Central Illinois Top DJ contest and Central Illinois Guitar Center Spin-Off winner, rounding off what was already one of the most formidable forces in hard rock music to date. Combining a unique blend of influences including Alice in Chains, Tool, Deftones, Jay Z, A Perfect Circle, Dr. Dre, Megadeth, and Tupac (to name a few) Mindset Evolution is anything but your run of the mill rock band. Stylistically diverse, infectiously catchy and undeniably talented, Mindset Evolution has sold out major venues throughout the Midwest and has garnered three top rated songs from their debut album on Central Illinois 1 radio station WIXO 105.7 FM, helping them to earn the right to share a marquis with such acts as Finger Eleven, Silvertide, Smile Empty Soul, Seven Mary Three, and Nonpoint. Included is their performance to a more than capacity crowd at Chicago's historic Metro during the midwest final of the Bodog Battle of the Bands, prompting Bodog representative Gus Capone to comment that "Our top qualifier, playing to a sea of green clad fans, was Mindset Evolution. Their electrifying performance left no question that they are ready to take their act to the next level....." They know that there is a long road ahead and, with stars in their eyes and their eyes on the prize, they will do anything and everything they have to do to continue the spread of the Evolution.
