He and five brothers were raised in a single-family household in Long Island, NY. His struggles and contributions to his family and his career have shaped Sharpp into a relentless enterprising person who stops at nothing to achieve his goals.Music has always played a major role in Sharpp’s life and has been one of the fixations that kept success on his mind. Sharpp’s first performance had been at talent shows and local nightclubs with his rap group called the “Hostyle Huntas”. Eventually, the group separated but Sharpp knew that being in the hip-hop industry was what he lived for and began pursuing his career as a solo artist. He has opened for 3LW, Mario, Cash Money Millionaires, NORE and various shows all over New York City; performed for Snoop Dogg and staged a live performance at the infamous “Greek Feast” at Jones Beach, Floss Inc. Ski Weekend with Trey Songz/OShy and Rob Stapleton, 50Mics Tournament 2 @ the Spot Light Live.More to date, Sharpp appeared on 106 & Park’s “Freestyle Friday” battle and won several times; Sharpp has also completed principle roles alongside actors such as Denzel Washington in the movie (“American Gangster”) Extended Version, Jodie Foster and Terence Howard in the movie (“The Brave One”) and Sharpp has played Eric B in the Wendy Williams movie (“Queen of Media”). Again with Sharpp being in the spotlight he has also been the main poster boy for Akademiks (clothing line) in 2006, which appeared in various major magazines like Vibe, Source and XXL and had Billboards all over the tri-state area and the M.T.A System.Sharpp’s hit single “Oh My Goodness”, was featured on one of Wendy’s Williams’ “pick of the week”, Miss Jones’ “new joint of week”, and played several times by DJ Kay Slay and spun by fourteen radio stations outside of New York City. His second single, “I Don’t Really Know You” has a video that was rotating on BET Uncut for eight months straight. The video had special appearances by ED Lover, Jazzy Joyce, Kurt Flirt and others. Sharpp has also completed records with Cheri Dennis (Bad Boy), Grand Puba, Danny Stevenson (Nelly’s “Hot in Here”) and Punjabi MC who is known for the hit song “Beware of the Boys”, feat. Jay-Z. Sharpp also has another video (“Hands Up”) on YouTube.com which received over 4,278 hits in less than a month.Sharpp is a true testimony to his life story and for all who live the struggle.
