Barack Obama gave an inspiring speech on March 18, 2008 about the issue of race in America. In my mind, it was the best speech ever given on race in American history. Barack Obama has lived Dr. King's dream which makes his words ever more powerful."Christmas in Fallujah" by Cass Dillon, written by Billy JoelThe following video is of Keith Olbermann's "Special Comment" from 12/6/07. It's the most riled up I've seen him in quite a while. In about 8 minutes he manages to say, with the utmost eloquence, what has been on my mind for a long time. For that, Mr. Olbermann, I salute you!"I'M AS MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"Aww...look...the puppet dances!

Movies:

Ahhh...where to begin. I'm a Turner Classic Movie fan but appreciate any film with a great screenplay, cast, cinematography, direction, etc... My mother used to be in the film business and with her insight I have gained an even greater appreciation for the art of movie making, especially for what goes on behind the scenes.A few of my favorites include:"The Red Shoes""The Third Man" "Citizen Kane""Out of the Past"All of Hitchcock's films, especially "Spellbound" with two of my favorite actors, Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck. I also love the fact that Salvador Dali collaborated with Hitchcock to produce the "dream sequence" which truly makes the film "spellbinding"."Laura" and another one of my favorite Gene Tierney films "Dragonwyck", a film in which she co-stars with a distant relative of mine Vincent Price.and one more of Tierney's that I love- "Whirlpool" which was directed by the great Otto Preminger. My favorite team of sleuths. Mr. and Mrs. Nick and Nora Charles."The Unsuspected" This film was the first film that really turned me onto black and white movies.Great book turned movie. "Goodbye, Mr. Chips""Joanna" This campy Brit flick I just happend to see one day. It caught my eye because of its title, which bears my name. Like I said, it's very campy, but, because it's British, I enjoyed it thoroughly."Bladerunner"More recent favorites:"Gattaca"The "Bourne" movies "Sir, No Sir!""Man of the Year""A Scanner Darkly""V for Vendetta""Michael Clayton""In the Valley of Elah""No Country For Old Men" (and all other Coen bros. films) "Atonement" "The Last Waltz"Anyhoo...the list goes on.Actors:Louise Brooks, Mary Pickford, Lilian Gish, Greta Garbo, Jean Harlow, Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, Gregory Peck, Cary Grant, Gary Cooper, Lauren Bacall, Humphrey Bogart, Claude Rains, Orson Wells, Joseph Cotten, Jose Ferrer, Ingrid Bergman, Gene Tierney, Vincent Price, Joan Crawford, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Peter O'Toole, Judy Garland, Paul Newman, Julie Andrews, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracey, Barbara Stanwyck, Walter Huston, John Huston, Myrna Loy, Warren Williams, William Powell, David McCallum, Robert Mitchum, Kirk Douglas, Peter Lorre, Dana Andrews, Marlon Brando, Michael Caine, David Niven, Laurence Olivier, Edward G.
