To be truly considered a master at something takes years of practice, skill, and an unwillingness to settle for anything less than excellence. With this said, Jaime Lim is definitely becoming a master of art and illustration. His use of traditional art form is a direct influence from the early masters. Jaimes' observation that pencil was always used first before a classic was created is his theory behind his medium of choice. "Pencil is the skeleton in which everything else is created. There are no tricks, color enhancement or computer program to help me create my photolike illustrations".
His pursuit of excellence goes as far back as childhood. It would not be long before his innocent doodles and sketches as a youth would manifest themselves into beauitul piece of art. But his skills were not perfected over night. He has spent many years and countless studio hours grinding out professionally finished artwork for his portfolio.
The rewards of his struggles have been summed up by the philosphy of,"There is no more satisfying then doing what you love to do, getting paid for it, and earing a living".
WORDS FROM THE ARTIST:
"When we are born on this planet we have only a short time to make a difference through destiny and faith I was given the opportunity to accomplish truly something great. I don't take my gift for granted. Everyday I give my thanks to the almighty. My goal as an artist is to share my artwork with the world. Because a picture is worth more than a thousand words. I'm able to communicate with people from any continent. Once an image is captured by illustration it enters the realm of the immortal. When we reach our end on this earth our spirits live through the images we leave behind. As an artist I would like to recreate one's image through my art as a "raw" form of positive communication that we live forever." - Jaime Lim
