you, of course! stop and say hello?! • you have something unique and i don't want to miss it. i especially enjoy people who without fear express the individuality God put them here for. there's something about a person who can be themselves and rely on that. they lean-in on life and find the place that they fit. so here is your encouragement, find your own voice, express yourself. 'hello' isn't a bad place to start.
What's in the iPod today? I'm always listening to Pat Terry, one of my best friends, whose music has been one of the most significant parts of the soundtrack of my life for many years. Mindy Smith, Evanescence, Michele Branch, (solo and with The Wreckers), Joy Williams, Bethany Dillon, Patty Griffin, Nancy Casteele, Rickie Lee Jones and Jonatha Brooke top the female list I'm currently listening to. Among the guys: James Taylor, Beatles, Ray Charles, it is always changing...
Lost in Translation • Groundhog Day • That Thing You Do • If You Believe • The Full Monty • Bleu (first in the triligy of French films based on the 3 colors of the French flag) • Pride and Prejudice (the older, longer production)
Monk • House • Mystery (especially when showing episodes of the Brittish production Foyle's War) • Good Eats
The Bible - when I read it I see God's love, redemption and intimate care for me. All else is in a different, lower class. all time favorite: To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee), most AMAZING recent book: Ava's Man (Rick Bragg- Rick writes like a man who has found the voice of his people... his heritage, and his own place in the world), most thought provoking: Annie Dillard ('Holy the Firm' and 'Teaching a Stone to Talk' made my head want to explode), most facinating historical writer: Shelby Foote, most creative: the Harry Potter series - just finished and loved book 7 (J.K. Rowling), best daily read: Disciplines for the Inner Life by Bob and Michael Benson. Recently readi & enjoyed: Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, The Historian, 'Til We Have Faces (C.S. Lewis). Looking forward to Reed Arvin's next book.
