About Me

I laugh loud and raucously wherever I am. I am an architect. I like thinking about that intersection of beauty and practicality. But I quit so I can take over the world with my ADSC sisters. Mwah!!

My Interests

justice, making things with my hands, yoga,

I'd like to meet:

I love positive people, silly people, people who dream, people who love and speak and laugh from their tongues down to their toes. Yeah, and the head top and the soulcase too.

Music:

rasta music, culcha, bingi (sp?) drums, roots, hip hop, and did i mention reggae?

Movies:

jarmusch (minimalist) and bollywood (maximalist)

Television:

FOOD TV, the style channel, the wire, project runway (i wanna be a fashion rockstar sometimes) what not to wear. i love stacy and clinton.

Books:

novels, especially ones about the immigrants and the struggle against tradition. but lately i seem to only read articles and stuff about cities and human geography

Heroes:

The thing I admire most about people is not our accomplishments but our ability to remain human in spite of the things that happen to us and to the world in general. Which is more humility than heroism. Lately I find myself crying when I hear a story about someone who did a very simple act everyday and was persistent enough that it finally, maybe, made a difference. And maybe not. But they did it anyway. Which is probably what heroes do, but how do I pick just one or two? And I realize that my hesitation comes from deeply wanting to be able to remember that every human being is that person.

The debate on Barack frankly cracks me up. I went to see Harry Belafonte a couple of weeks ago and he said that he feels that the civil rights era and style black leaders will make a decision about Ob...
