J KAPO : NARKO-LIRIKANTE

About Me

** NEW SONGS ARE FINALLY HERE FROM THE NEW ALBUM “NARCO ESCRITURAZ”**
** PRODUCED IN MIAMI **

J Kapo also formally known as Tragiko in the 90s, was born in a place plagued by corrupt politics, and reigned by drug smugglers, a land so rich in beauty with its mountainous landscapes, coffee fields, and beautiful women, a mystical city referred to as "the gates of heaven" called Cali, Colombia. Well travelled, J Kapo grew up in Miami in the 80’s," La Sawuesera" to be exact (he was smuggled illegally into Miami on a jet from Nassau Bahamas in 1981 together with his mother and little sister). He was surrounded by the aura of Colombian Drug Kingpins (Cocaine Cowboys as it is well known) and the corruption era that defined and changed Miami forever. He also spent 4 years of his early 20s in Cali, Colombia (due to his live of self indulgence and illegal activities) then moving to Chicago in 1994, and finally settling back to Miami in 2006. As part of one of the building blocks of Colombian Hip Hop in Cali back in 1990, he is very proud of his Latin heritage. His stepfather, a very gifted Puerto Rican guitar player, opened his eyes to Latin Music very early on in his life, and with the arrival of the first wave of Latin Rappers (Mellow Man Ace/Kid Frost/Vico C) definitely proved to be a turning point in his life and career. With the influences of Hip Hop and Latin Music, J Kapo started to take steps towards his ultimate dream of becoming a true Latin Hip Hop artist. Being an MC always ahead of his time, evolved him into a true visionary in his own right.
His musical creativity is pondered on bringing his own true life stories and to be the voice for does that can not be heard. His flexibility on different styles of Hip Hop, Rap, Latin, and even a new sound that he and his compa Tony V created called Bombaton makes him remarkable and extremely versatile. J Kapo’s beats are an insight to his Spanish roots. Not only does he have his Hip Hop influences varying from the likes of Mellow Man Ace, Kool G. Rap, Cypress Hill, Beatnuts, N.W.A., Tony Touch, Funkdoobiest, Wu-Tang Clan, L.L. Cool J, Nas, Rakim, Big Pun, Biggie, 2pac, Frost, Vico C, El General, Wycleff, but he also has influences from Spanish musical artists like Grupo Niche, Guayacan, Hector Lavoe, Fruko, La Fania, Ralphy Leavitt, Gran Combo, Piper Pimienta, Santana, Leo Dan, Roberto Carlos, y Joe Arroyo.
He started as a very gifted dancer in 1988, performing in talents shows in his schools, in House Parties, and teen clubs in Miami. He finally picked up the mic on a serious level in 1992 although he started rapping in 1990 upon arriving to Cali, Colombia. Being a very influential part of Cali (Colombia) Hip Hop has not change J Kapo what so ever. He is still a down to earth MC with a deadly lyrical prowlness. In Chicago he was one of the first Latin rappers to flow in his native language and in Spanglish back in 1994. He has influenced an array of Latin rappers thru out the US, which not all stayed true to the originator - J Kapo. He was the originator in mixing Salsa and Cumbia with Hip Hop back when it was unheard off in the streets and much less in the radios. Thru his musical connections he allied himself and open the doors for another Locombian rapper from Washington DC called back then Carnicero now better know as Cero. Together they created the infamous and lethal group Trafikantez, and later on their own underground entertainment label called Smuggla Entertainment. Thanks to the group’s hard work and dedication carried them into becoming an underground favorite.
Unfortunately J Kapo had a few setbacks in his career in dealing with fake rappers, and wishy washy MCs. He spent much of his time in Chicago ripping fake MCs apart and settling beefs. The Latin Hip Hop game in Chicago is very cut throat, and he wasn’t having it. He wanted to make sure the Latin Hip Hop from Locombia and the Windy City stayed real and non of that fake "I started rapping in Spanish cause its popular " mentality. He influenced, helped, and directly connected all of these no good for nothing rappers. Their jealousy, greed, and disrespect towards J Kapo and Latin Hip Hop itself awaken the monster and lyrical assassin that J Kapo is today. He also discovered, influenced and helped many other so called MCs in Chicago who are NOW known as fake Reggaetoneros. Most of these rappers he found in the streets and only turned to Latin Rap with the arrival of J Kapo himself.
J Kapo being the very smart and calculated Mc that he is waited and planned his strategy of attack. He broke off from his group Trafikantez (because of creative differences with his partner) and with the help of his closest ally & talented producer Tony Vinyl, and other real Locombian MCs, started to build the game plan. To destroy the careers of all of those unreal and fake rapperos in Chicago and the rest of the US who do not respect him or represent real Rap Latino. As the originator of the Bombaton (in partnership with Tony V.), J Kapo has also dealt with some devious independent labels that did not measured up to par, tried to rip him off and tried to pigeon hole him into becoming a Reggaetonero. But thru all the drama Kapo was able to clean up the streets and beat all these bammers into submission. Now with all the chips in place, the beefs all cleared up he is ready to bring upon the market his new album. His mixtape "El Konecte", and his album "El J.Kapo" are already underground favorites world wide. Most definitely this next album for 2008 will be his best album production to date and will be the rawest of his career. He is also uniting with other real Hip Hop MCs and musicians from Colombia for an Alliance to enforce real & true Hip Hop in their native country.
His musical goal is to capture the Spanish and English markets worldwide. And with his raw style and ruthless delivery, which is as notorious as the Cali Cartel, without a doubt J Kapo is one hell of a Hip Hop artist to be reckoned with, and is in full throttle to take Latin Hip Hop to the next level for all the Hip Hop fans now and in the future to come. The game will never be the same as J Kapo aka The Lyrical Assassin begins the take over. These will be the words that he carries in his new album like an emblem and the scripture for all real Locombian Hip Hop to come:
"El Pulso De La Revolución Narco Liricista Del Hip Hop Latino 100% Locombiano"
"The Narco Revolutionary Lyricism Pulse of Latin Hip Hop 100% Locombian"

Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

"If we remember that God loves us, and that we can love others as he loves us, then America can become a sign of peace for the world. From here, a sign of care for the weakest of the weak-the unborn child-must go out to the world. If you become a burning light of justice and peace in the world, then really you will be true to what the founders of this country stood for."

Mahatama Ghandi

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man [woman] whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him [her]. Will he [she] gain anything by it? Will it restore him [her] to a control over his [her] own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to swaraj [freedom] for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
