Brother Dvooa Mental Leakage Genre: Hip-Hop/Soul Mental Leakage is definitely a hip-hop album, but it isn't just another record. Brother Dvooa's (born Leon Clayborne) debut record spins the way hip-hop culture speaks to his soul: it's both hip-hop and soul. It's obvious he spits lyrics organically, from the ground up, absorbing life experiences and projecting them through the microphone, with a defined voice. "I Wanna Dance" is a ridiculous Diabolic and D-Ali production that you can groove to, featuring Jimetta Rose's thick beautiful vocals! Somehow Brother Dvooa and Jimetta Rose's styles play tag: complimenting each other's words. Another production by Diabolic, "Honey, Honey", is for the ladies who sneak in the clubs with fake ID. It's not a celebration. It's advice for both sexes. Of course your head will nod because the words as well as the beats are right on point. "Hip Hop" featuring BessKepp and Brother Edd, is an Adidas shelltoe tale.The entire album aides in piecing together bits of who Brother Dvooa is: persistent, an appreciative grandson, a b-boy and a wordsmith. Brother Dvooa's Mental Leakage is like the morning hours of the day, crisp and clean. The lyrics, as well as the beats, constantly nip at your ears. With production by Gabe Real, Flying Lotus, The Otha's,360 and featuring Trek Life, Triune, Hardware and Aloe Blacc, just to name a few, this album is lovely! BRO.DVOOA is a multitalented Inland empire native who fell in love with the Hip-Hop culture at a very young age. He started off with break dancing in elementary school, which led him to develop a true passion for B-boying. Then later on in life BRO.DVOOA found himself dabbling into the Emcee aspect of the culture. After joining forces with spoken word collective and venue "A Mic & Dim Lights Alumni" in 2000, BRO.DVOOA was considered as a regular and began rocking with the collective at major universities, community events, conferences and Hip-Hop theatre festivals. With all this experience under his belt, in 2006 BRO.DVOOA release his first project entitled "Mental Leakage" which created a buzz throughout the Inland Empire and Los Angeles area. Fast-forwarding to now, BRO.DVOOA has release a second project called "Dvooa Display vol.1" and is consistently rocking shows within the Hip-Hop community. BRO.DVOOA is definitely a performer you want to check out and hear more from. His passion is the main ingredient within his live show and music projects.
