Sounds Like: Broad Noodles is a cross between stove top stuffing and potatoes. In other words, we give you rock flavor. We give you Metal flavor. We are pure flavor!!! Come get Flavorized!!! This is a baptisim of Flavor!!! This holiday season give the gift of Flavor! This is the Flavor that you savor. We also sound pretty good. Check aisle 2 for a clean up, Son!Broad Noodles =Slayer vs. Dolly Parton in a farting match!Combine the sweet sounds and smells of the Atlantic Ocean, the distant yells from the Cyclone, a Colt 45 40 oz. in a paper bag and their you have the inspiration for this debut release by Broad Noodles. The debut CD is as far a stretch from the current trend of wining and crying f*g bands as the KGB is to Brighton Beach(?:().
Broad Noodles is not about flashing technical prowess, as you might be used to hearing from bands on MTV2(I aslo listened to Malmsteen...but in 88'), but is about getting a folk story across. Whether it's about a certain female's bad personal hygiene("Stinky Clinky") or an 18 year old tough guy who thought he was a ninja and was trying to train future, smaller ninjas("Ninjas Don't Get Evicted"). He soon gets thrown out of his apartment after becoming a coke-head,never to be heard from again.
With guitarist, Krauss (formerly Amazing Device) and Shark Daddy, on bass, a solid wall of rhythmic mayhem is unleashed bleading seemlessly into more psychedelic, somber moments on tracks such as "Traffic (is my best friend)" -sung by Travis, and "Bust That Hymen"-Sung by Dr. Donald Brief.
"Lord Harry Lats" makes his debut vocal appearance on the "radio-ready" single, "Thomas (I need to talk to you)". This song tells the story of a disgruntled young gentlemen whos roomate's girlfriend relentlessly barrages the house with phone calls looking for her boyfriend every night. He can't be side tracked by this non-sense. All he wants to do is smoke his weed...
In genre, they have been compared to Beastie Boys meets Sick of it All. All in all, a group of hard workin' Brooklyn Boys.
