Brothers Michael & Keith are Bohemian.
Michael and Keith grew up in the south Chicago suburbs. Their parents being art lovers both boys were engaged in violin, piano and guitar lessons at very young ages. It didnt take long for them to realize that music would play a huge part in their lives. After high school the family moved to the Orlando area where they attended Rollins College and Stetson University keeping busy with tennis team and fraternity life until graduation.
The brothers didnt actually start writing their own music until their college years but when they started they couldnt stop. At this point they probably have over 200 original compositions.
They formed their band, then called Lemon Yellow Sun, in early 2001. The bands name has evolved many times since then going from Lemon Yellow Sun to Co-Generation to Generation to The Youngers and now finally ending up with Bohemian, which matches the brothers Czech heritage. They both have a love of language and have mastered their mother tongue.
As Generation they toured the US extensively from 2002 2004 promoting their first self titled album. During that time they opened 31 shows for the band Lennon. Also, they had the opportunity to open shows for Sister Hazel, Unwritten Law, and for one of their heroes Robby Krieger from The Doors.
Bohemian is a band that's breaking through without the help of a record company. Best known for high-energy, live performances and their unique blend of alternative and classic rock. The band has also gained recognition for its relentless tour schedule and unparalleled drive to promote themselves. With influences varying from The Beatles to The Doors to Maroon 5, Bohemian has stumbled upon a new sound that's shaking up audiences everywhere. With poetic lyrics and a dynamic blend of music you are bound to find a song to fit your mood.
Their Generation debut album was very raw, recorded in their Orlando home using as few microphones as possible. This is in sharp contrast to their latest Bohemian CD, also self titled, which was produced by Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Nickleback, Three Doors Down) at Capitol Records in Los Angeles and London Bridge Studios in Seattle. The strings were arranged by David Campbell (Goo Goo Dolls, Beck, Aerosmith) and performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The CD was mixed by Bob Clearmountain (Sheryl Crow, The Who, Simple Minds). All of the songs were written by Keith who is the lead vocalist and Michael who plays guitar. The rest of the musicians on this CD are some of the best musicians in the country: Brad Smith on bass (Blind Melon), Matt Chamberlain on drums (Pearl Jam, Iggy Pop), Eric Schermerhorn on guitar (Iggy Pop, David Bowie).
