A dark, humorous and enchanting ukulele duo.
Since their first gig on the 28th July’07 - as part of their regular in-house residency for ‘You and Me’ nights - An eerie monthly event with live music and dancing at the Flying Duck, Glasgow. They have started to play new material which brings out strange strong harmonies, wilful percussion and ukulele playing.
The audience’s response has been a combination of tears, laughter and the breaking out of fights. People have found them to be bizarre and witty with a lovely blend of voices, ‘sassy with bad Ass’, charismatic and a ‘little gem of delight.’ Others have described them as a combination of The Slits, Abba and Curtis Mayfield with kazoos.
Molly and Me have been swapping identities, bearing disguises and generally dressing up for intimate, impromptu gigs at the ‘The 78’, glasgow in between antique gramophone record playing. As well as for music and arts festivals - ‘Hey you get off my pavement’, Mono highlighting alternative music scene in Glasgow. (photo album) and ‘Tanz Im August’, Podewil, Berlin – International dance festival with Paul Gazzola (our lunchbox).
Molly and me have also been supporting – Stanley Brinks (aka Andre Herman Dune) arranged by Isla Presents and Schwervon from NYC at Stereo, Glasgow.
