Spring of Springer Production!
Just wanted to share what I do with ya!Basically I put on Steve Poltz house concerts. The
thing is, is that I don't have the show at my house.
I rent the upstairs of the American Legion Hall in
small town Frankton, Indiana! The reason, we usually
get around 150 people to attend this event. No way my
house can fit that many Poltz fans in it.I had my first Steve Poltz show back in May of 2004.
Then my second in April of 2006 with special guest,
Otis Gibbs. My third show was just last October. At
that show, I had 2 openers. Chris Wolf, a very
talented songwriter from Mooresville, Indiana and
Billy Harvey, creative songwriter from Austin, Texas. There has been such an great turnout for these shows.
People from all over the mid west come to see Steve.
I've met people from Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio,
Kentucky, and Tennessee, even a gal from New Jersey
showed up!Since I enjoy doing these shows so much, this year
I've decided to branch out and put on some different
concerts. This past March, Billy Harvey drove in to
do a show that was held at The Wolf's Den in
Mooresville. Who better to open the show than Chris
Wolf... it was at his house. That night couldn't have been more perfect. The
Wolf's Den is a perfect place for a living room
concert! We had lots of goodies and balacony seating.
Mr. Harvey was impressed.May 5th I'll be hosting a Rachael Davis house concert.
I came along Rachael last year when she was opening
for Steve Poltz. Rachael has an unbelievable voice
and she plays the guitar and banjo very well! Plus
her stage presence is sweet and funny! This show is
actually taking place at my house. What better way to
celebrate my birthday?!So, the big show is coming up June 1st. Steve Poltz
will be traveling all the way across country to itty
bitty Frankton. I always tell people, "How often does
a Grammy Award winner songwriter do a concert in
Frankton?"It's always a pleasure to have Steve Poltz at your
house. When he comes to Frankton, he stays at our
home. After a long evening of entertaining music, we
head back to the house and my mother in law cooks a
delicious midnight meal. Then morning comes and the inlaws head back over
around 10am with pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast, juice,
and milk. Usually the bacon comes from Lanny
Linville's back yard. Relatives and friends come over
for breakfast to hang out, eat, and enjoy Steve
playing guitar at the kitchen table.I'd like to add that Springer Production is non-
profit. Lucky if we make our money back! We simply
put these shows on to share the music we love with the
people we love. Friends, family, and new faces are
always welcomed. You may check out Steve Poltz, Billy Harvey, Chris
Wolf, and Rachael Davis under my top 8 friends of
Myspace. Also, I'd like for you to check out this
awesome band named Eisenhower Field Day. EFD is a
local band from Indy.Hope to see you in the future, make sure to stop me
and say hello! Later this year keep an eye out for
Steppin In It, Shout Sister Shout, and Matt the
Electrician to make a stop in Frankton. For more information regarding the shows, visit
