About Me

BRAND SPANKIN NEW FOR YOU! Download DJSilvio - Sound of NowCollege radio DJ since 83, yes that's right. Learned to be a house Dj after 95, yeah I was a latecomer on the talent end no doubt, forgive me, please~? So check this out I found out about electronic music purely by accident, thank you the universe, God or whomever is responsible. I am a better person for it. Actually I need to thank Ian Koss longtime publisher of INK 19 magazine for giving me the opportunity to get involved in the music journalism business. That was an incredible period of my life. It lead to this chronic on again off again romance with the music industry via music journalism, college radio, events promotion, and producing live PA acts & live bands & Djs, one off events and club promotions. I am and always plan to be indie as in independent. While many Djs became increasingly disillusioned with the status quo, we even dubbed it the "DJ mafia" and as a direct reaction to what was happening in the mid 90's, in the Orlando metro area we began to sponsor renegade parties. This was followed by several TV appearances when the Late Night Law took effect on July 5th 1997. Then weird things began to occur...This is serious business. I am a lo tech vinyl only Dj with preferences as diverse as the sky is wide. Expect a bit of class with your premium tunes. In short I am a music machine. I am the space between the beats. I love all EDM, and believe I am best described as a tribal house lovin', epic trance induced two step, dee 'n' bee, nu rave, hardcore, jungle and acid jazz, euphoric, nu skooled on the old school breakbeat, dubstep ,indie-minimal, balearic, old wave retro-romantic, grunge-a-billy -psychosomatiformulae, fully amoritized, front end loaded, makes your cerbral cortex throb like you're down in a electro asian massage parlour, fuelin' freestyle, jazz freak -jams all dang day on your laptop, IDM, electro- magnetic, wannabee virgin whored out for the old school cobalt blue blood moneybags and dangerously huge supplies of original coke not pepsi and/or rodeo drive nose jobs and ample plastic surgery, whose profitable gains are all but used up each fiscal quarter to legitimately help siphon off funds that fuel a double secret government agency that sponsors a confidential program designed to systematically nuke only the albino gay infant pygmy whales born on the 29th of Feb for the eternally sweet & sincere little bloodthirsty yet adorable baby Jesus desde~ Tijauna. There ya happy? Now stop asking so many questions and just try to go have some freakin' fun life is meant to be a party. All you newbies & latecomers don't wannabe last in line with your plates empty for the graveyard shift if you're not going to be free of the early burden so you can catch the sunrise and get all your worms for free, don't cha...now? When you say that you cannot say it does that mean that you trip over the words?

Moral of the story. Why not dance in the ruins of tomorrow today? All your detractors will someday too die, let it rest. More importantly feel good now and forever. Did I mention that most importantly LOVE outlives us all? please go love someone more than necessary today at the end it's all anyone really can wish to posses. Increase the peace, your eternal pal DJ Silvio

My Interests

All the good things in life begin with our thoughts. I use my thoughts to actuate my affirmations and then utilize the Law of Attraction. I first learned about it via : www.The Secret.Tv, www.Abraham-Hicks.com for inspired material and of course Dr. Wayne Dyer and countless others... did I mention music..?

I'd like to meet:

Everyone is worth meeting. Especially all the great people who come to see me Dj whereever I am playing. Memorial Day I'll be playing in Orlando & West Palm, details to follow. Also the people who come to dance and hear me DJ I LIVE FOR YOU PEOPLE TO ENJOY YOURSELVES so please try to have a good time and unwind, life is too short to not be happy and feel fabulous right? I look forward to a lengthy and beautiful life. So should you~!

Music:

...only the best, Donald Fagen , Walter Becker's gig called Steely Dan~! Robert Fripp, Brian Eno to Mick Jones, Joe Strummer(RIP) - the Clash , Jerry Garcia's (RIP) the Grateful Dead, to Jello Biafra's -Dead Kennedy's, Gibby Hayes, Paul Leary's-Butthole Surfers, Ian McKaye, thank you Ian, you made the world a better place~! I am more alive because of your ideology, The almighty Bad Brains, Nirvana, The Guys who created the Sub Pop label Jonathan Poneman and Bruce Pavitt, uhm, The Pixies!!!, The White Stripes - thank you for saving Rock'n'roll!) , MotherLove Bone, without Landrew Wood 's ultimately terrible sacrifice, we wouldn't have Pearl Jam, Mudhoney etc, that is STILL one of the saddest things to have to relate... and right now the pulse of the music scene is all about Beth Ditto and the almighty Gossip who are right now THE ONLY BAND THAT MATTERS! If you are LGBT GOSSIP is thee only band with the integrity to tell it like it is. Beth is such a powerful woman she don't need no balls~! Electronic Music- ok this emotional for me... The most impact on my preferred style of music would have to where it all began @ Aaahz. Thank you Stace Bass for the vision Dave Cannalte & Kimball Collins for the music. You guys really are living Dj dieties! I am still in awe of the magesty of a night out @ Aaahz... How could you ever forget that? .. Who could EVER forget or underestimate the incredible work of the ubiquitous....DJ Icey who brought breakbeat to America like no one else, he was a legend when no one knew...Fl has been awesome in retrospect...I forget so much because all of this was brand new to me and happening so fast, please forgive me I get things wrong, please? I can't overlook the importance of a little record store on Mills Ave that arguably changed the world and the ultimate GAY DJ , Mr. Robby Clark. Kneel please at the altar of the Underground Record Source. Robby I probably speak for so many others when I say "Thank you for helping me to become a proud GAY DJ!" Robby thank you. In my mind the world revolved around Orlando in the states especially here on the east coast. The first rave I wnet to was called Divine playground in Miami with Utah Saints meat beat manifesto and 808 state. Game on~! I then checked out Marz and was wondering why everyone seemed so friendly and hugged each other so much. Why didn't I have close relationships like that...? I continued @ BCC and continued writing for Ink 19. I wasn't ushered into the scene until the Village Underground in Palm Bay brought club culture to my backyard. This was owned and operated by Yola Abramowicz and the resident dj was Jim Kaiser from WFIT in Melbourne, who brought in Chris Fortier and Dave Cannalte regularly. I was kind of hooked on the new sound and gave up promoting punk rock and hardcore gigs, I felt it was useless at that point. Other than a few trips to Tampa to witness in shock and total awe the magnitude of Rabbit In The Moons' live gig, an expereience to behold to this day, that was like the most unreal thing I had ever seen. Then of course there were those pilgrimages to worship at the altar of SIMONS Innnermind in Gainesville Fl, that alone is whole 'nother story. I can't even begin to describe the feeling of a Sunday am @ The Soul House. On a whole nother plane, the huge festivals that we all went to! There's WAY too many to name so I won't even try. and eventually honestly I can claim that just about all Then there was Andy Hughes and Chris Fortier's home turf the beach. Brassy's & Marz ( RIP ) beachside? Holy crap! That's all it took I was hooked by the electronic bugg. we'd leave Brassy's and go to Marz and party all morning...I have some incriminating photos of the upstairs secret room...That was so cool meeting people form all over the southeast @ Marz. So it's true big clubbing was going off on the beach the same time as Orlando was finding its footing...Dave Mirsky was not well liked as the owner of MArz but deidicated to producing the best light show this side of...well Mars... have to give credit where its due... Richard Moss promoter, Donald form Injoy and in the early days Mark Harmon from Kram Records, Bevan @ Firestone who was always willing to help out, and the wonderful Club Infinity, the Abyss, even Ultra Violet had its moments - all of them had unreal sound for such a small clubs, and later on Cyber Zone. All places we came to feel good about our fave toons and people. WPRK & Cano, REMARK another ENCOURAGING GAY ROLE MODEL helped keep my hope alive. All of the other dance music since 90 was introduced to me by way of going to every friggin party I could make it to the list goes like this DJ Icee, the flawless Stylus, Joe C, D-Extreme who rocked many a Edge rave to the AM, Chris Harshman, Andy Hughes, Chris Fortier( huge inspiration, beachside inspiration it was ok to be from the beaches!, that was huge for a horde of dorky , wannabee DJs, like myself and probably many others too I am guessing!) DJ Mike Lacy- who scored an unlikely hit actually had the patience to teach me how to mix, thnx Mike I hope to carry that forward. There were sooo many under-rated and often overlooked people I can only apologize for not remembering everything. Please forgive I was not always at my best in these years. Other influences : Paul Grogan and Doran from Rampant records, thnx guys, East 909Street zine the innovative and masterful DJ Chang, Trip Magazine, run by Peter Wohelski from the Astralwerks label, Stephanie Smiley while she was with Moonshine records in LA, Shadow records - I loved acid jazz too!, Q Burn's crew of local heroes BMF, Slack, etc...local hometown breakbeat hero DJ Synrgy ( we still lovin' YOU Jeremy!) so many more thru the promotions I attended and produced and covered for the magazines. So does anyone remember Impact or Outer Limits in Cocoa, formere employer and overall scoundrel Randy Johnson dood, you gave me a break but you were a total bastard and screwed EVERYONE you know in one way shape or form. No wonder you reportedly faked your won death ! How's the Federal Penn? On a personal level my biggest challenges and defeats came with the Sanctuary parties those were an influence too. Frank Bynum ( Full MOon Productions) who was a real friend when I needed one most, the talented and underrated Dj Tracey (Uptown Records) who was our sound tech during the first years the under appreciated DJ Soul who showed me the real meaning of friendship without the trappings of my own indulgence. Those parties were for everyone we were servants to the people. I felt like I could have done a better job in so many ways. Sorry everyone. Thank you Carl Noone, Steve Schwind, Justin Nichols, Dante, Noel Sanger mad props to Noel~! I know there were hundreds of people who helped me and I want to thank you all for being so kind while I was struggling to find my way. Music saved my life and I NEED to THANK EVERYONE and anyone I met at a party, record store, or wherever. Whoever you are you helped keep me alive and well. LIFE is so precious and the sound of Rhythm is everywhere and in everything. Don't deny yourself the pleasure of the knowledge music brings into your life. peace through music. THANK YOU EVERYONE YOU ARE THE PART OF THE SOLUTION ~! We know the world is a better place because we loved this exciting new form of music called techno. it changed the world one beat at a time. I am so thankful and humbled to have been given the opportunity to learn from everyone. Much love and respect Dj Silvio
