Biography

Performer, Educator, and Composer. Patrick Francis Frenking exemplifies the rare tradition of the virtuoso and composer in one. His eclectic repetoire, unique techinque, and approach to percussion have won over audiences time and time again. Patrick's compostions have many qualities of a crowd pleaser, such as catchy melodies, compound time signatures, and dramatic dynamics. Which are inevitably enjoyable for the lay audience as well as the educated. In 2005, Patrick traveled to China, teaching and performing music. In 2006, Patrick was inducted into Missouri's All-Collegiate Percussion Ensemble, where he and many other talented percussionists performed Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring". Most recently, Patrick took first place at a Washington University young artist competition. Patrick performs regularly around Saint Louis and has performed with various groups like, The Titan Percussion Duo, The Saint Louis Wind Symphony, Northwinds Concert Band, HaZMaT Percussion Duo, The South County Symphony, The University of Missouri Percussion Ensemble, Afro-Cuban Ensemble, and Symphonic Band , The Meramac Symphonic Band, and Genesis Lab Band. He has also performed with former rock band Venice Parker, playing in venues all throughout the US. Patrick has studied with Dr. Thomas Zirkle, Matt Henry, and Nebojsa Zivkovic. Patrick Frenking is currently the percussion instructor at the Village Talent Academy and a Percussion Performance major at the University of Missouri in Saint Louis and an Active member of the Percussive Arts Society.
