aung san suu kyi, mahatma gandhi, nelson mandela, unequivocally. although his legacy is undeniably mixed, i admire ho chi minh for his anti-colonial stance and his ability to stand up to the french and the americans. but i'm not so sure he's a hero because of his maoist legacy. i'll think about it some more. bob marley, bill hicks, my parents, danny phillips(see: orion string quartet), and all people fighting for freedom and self-determination everywhere.
