PHAZM

PHAZM was born in the fall of 2003.The two chord-whippers, Pierhryck and Pathryck, found a common passion in creating dark, mud-soaked riffs, as well as in inhaling obscure forest substances. Skin-torturer Dyrhk was immediately seduced by this realm of aggressive black metal sounds coated with rock n roll influences, and during the Fall of 2003, PHAZM spawned its first aural insanities. Mahx (bazz) left his little stinky hole shortly before the recording of a three tracks demo.The four-piece didnt even take the time to give this demo its originally intended release. Instead, they decided to migrate towards the Danish plains in order to record their first full-length offering with producer Jacob Hansen (ILLDISPOSED, INVOCATOR, ABORTED). During the cold and dark month of December 2003, ten songs were carved onto tape in a very raw and straightforward manner.

2004 : OSMOSE PRODUCTIONS is automatically seduced by this average of dirty 'n resinous sound and release the first album 'Hate at First Seed', which receives excellent reviews from all over the world. PHAZM is put on tour with YYRKOON and IMPALED NAZARENE in Easten Europe, and start to spread the madness on stage.2005 : Because of his involvements with SCARVE and SOILWORK, Dyrhk is forced to quit the crew. Cedric, previoulsy knowed as the drummer from the death metal band SOLEKAHN, joins straight foward and do several shows in the north of France.2006 : PHAZM records the new album, 'Antebellum Death'n Roll', at the Midnight Studio (France).

Au final, Antebellum Deathn Roll délivre donc une sorte de boogie rock métallique et diabolique, capable de faire danser les cadavres.
ROCK YOU
Denn hört man sich mal die Klassiker von Urgesteinen wie Darkthrone, Ulver, Bathory, Burzum oder auch Satyricon an und vergleicht sie mit alten Aufnahmen von Blues-Legenden wie Robert Johnson oder Muddy Waters, man wird zwar nicht unbedingt stilistisch, aber doch vom Ansatz her, mit einfachsten Mitteln und viel Gefühl aus der Bitterkeit eine einzigartige, den Menschen im Inneren berührende Musik zu destillieren, manche überraschende Parallele entdecken. Ein wahrlich faszinierendes Album. Viele werden es hassen. Ich liebe es!
LEGACY
Avez-vous déjà entendu de lharmonica dans un album de métal extrême ? Cette simple question suffit à souligner loriginalité aujourdhui acquise par la formation française Phazm à travers son second album à la personnalité affirmée. Mais ne résumons surtout pas ce disque à ces quelques passages dharmonica judicieusement placés. Non, Phazm cest beaucoup plus que ça. Dans une veine proche de Satyricon, Phazm se surpasse et se réinvente proposant un album remarquable !

Vous laurez deviné, Phazm vient de nous pondre un truc de dingue. Graisseux, barré, décalé et imprévisible, Antebellum Death n Roll est un pur moment de bonheur. Cerise sur le gâteau, le CD propose une face DVD relative à un concert donné à Nancy en juillet dernier.

Un album aux accents cajuns qui flirte dangereusement avec le vaudou et le bon vieux whisky de contrebande. Une oeuvre que lon attendait pas vraiment même si on ne peut déjà plus sen passer. Vraiment excellent. METALLIAN
