Include chillin', sleepin', partying with my closest friends, watchin' sports, listening to music and doing some outrageous stuff (anything you got I can handle - almost).
Anyone from my past that I was cool with. Real people. People who love to have fun. People who can take a joke and dish some out. Someone who can have fun by just sitting at the house watching movies or going clubbing. I'm a simple person and like simple people.
Anything from rap to alternative, country to 70's soul. Artists include Kanye West, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Alicia Keys, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Al Green, Stevie Wonder and Tony Toni Tone. I love listening to my personal 90s old school mix complete with Silk, Jodeci, Rome, Troope, etc. Finding new music everyday and falling in love, like Psalm One, Lupe Fiasco, Robin Thicke and Girl Talk.
I just started my DVD collection, but most of it seems to be old Eddie Murphy stuff (Boomerang, the Best of SNL: Eddie Murphy). All-time favorite is Beverly Hills Cop. I like The Color Purple and the Dave Chappelle Collections, including Chappelle's Show. Other faves: Coming to America, Demolition Man, mob movies like Casino, Donnie Brasco and Scarface, Love & Basketball, Jason's Lyric, Brown Sugar, Love Jones, Something New
Veronica Mars. ESPN Sportscenter. Family Guy, of course. Loved That 70s Show, sad to see it go. Random SNL sketches. Probably all my favorite shows are on Adult Swim (i.e. Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen, The Boondocks etc.). Weeds (Little Boxes, baby!), and The L Word.
The Real Story of Three Little Pigs and Green Eggs and Ham (go ahead, laugh, I don't care). The Giver and Possessing the Secret of Joy by Alice Walker. Anything that deals with real life situations, helps people learn more about themselves and educates my people. Others: The Color Purple, Friday Night Lights, The Miracle at St. Anthony's, Mississippi Harmony.
Anybody surviving the struggle - either with themselves, against the man, or trying to work and go to school with kids and no help. Some of my closest friends are my heroes, they just don't know it. Traditional heroes: Malcolm X, Lynette Woodard.
