About Me

My HorrorHound Updates
We are actually a collectible! HorrorHound issue 3, which sold out in just a couple months after its initial production run, has been averaging around $80 on eBay! More than just a couple times. I cant get my head around that. On top of that we are sold out of our 2nd and 5th issues as well... will they be as popular on the secondary market as our 3rd issue? I am very proud of HorrorHound. I could have lost a lot more than I did trying to get this magazine off the ground, and in two years we have become a respected name in the industry, with a consistent growth at market - from our 1,000 copies sold of issue 1 to our 10,000 plus in current release. And its getting bigger. If you havent seen the magazine, we have received placement in all major store outlets across the US including Barnes and Noble, Borders, Chapters.Indigo and more! In 2008 we started our bi-monthly run and our sell-thru has increased with every issue. Also, you can go to the store (if you are lucky) and pick up the DVD release of Monster Squad. Not only does HorrorHound have production credits, but I personally was thanked for my assistance in the making-of the disc. Nifty! We already had sweet credit on the last releases of Re-Animator, The Burning and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 DVDs, not to mention the UK's Creepshow DVD and the upcoming Pumpkinhead from MGM! IN 2007 we also hosted our very first horror convention in Indianapolis, Indiana! I worked my ass off to help make this show a success and it seemed to work. We have already held two more Indianapolis events with a Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Detroit and Cincinnati shows on the horizon. We pulled in 3,000 guests over the weekend of our last event and everyone had a blast. Our next show is coming up, the weekend of June 20-22nd! If you missed the last one - do NOT miss this!!!
About Me: A pop culture junkie, I spent most of my life building up my art skills until the internet took ahold of me in 1995 when my self-taught web designing created one of the first online toy, comic and collectible news sites. By 1997 (after a brief stint in Design School) I was working for Tomart Publishing maintaining their online presence and handling image processing for their magazine and book releases. Within a couple years I was designing magazine layouts, eventually taking over regular duties on Action Figure Digest. After writing sections for Garage Sale Gold, and articles/reviews for 1313 magazine I soon became the editor of AFD. In 2003 Tomart's Price Guide to Horror Movie Collectibles was released written by Aaron Crowell and myself. The book even featured a special foreword written especially for us by musician/director; Rob Zombie. Soon after this release we were in discussions to develop a new horror magazine - HorrorHound - as well as potential new comic and book prospects. Since 2004, I have written a movie script (which will hopefully be developed into a comic book) as well as a host of short stories, designed a number of art prints and t-shirts, and have assisted in the designs of a number of highly popular horror character action figure releases and even helped in production of exciting major DVD releases. In late 2005 I parted ways with Tomart Publishing and the first issue of HorrorHound became available to rave reviews. In early '06 (after just one issue) HorrorHound signed a 3-year deal to place the magazine in every major bookseller across the US including Borders, Barnes and Noble and Hot Topic. Currently working with a crew of over ten people, plotting a number of book projects and potential comic releases, HorrorHound is still very young and the future possibilies are endless. In my spare time I still work in the toy industry online and in print. In May '06 HorrorHound teamed up with Lee's Toy Review to bring a cross-promotion horror figure articles to the hard-core collectors market, and cross-selling advertising with select industry comic and magazines to help horror fans accross the globe know about HorrorHound. In 2008 we teamed-up with Time and Space Toys to convince the Monroeville Mall in Pennsylvania to allow up to screen Dawn of the Dead inside their building. Dawn was filmed in the Mall back in the '70s and has never played on a big screen inside the building. This is a big event that I am very proud to have been a part of making happen. Hopefully this is just another step in a long journey though this industry!
Celebrity Fun: Since I started in the publishing world, I have been interviewed/quoted by a number of news and entertainment sources including Premiere Magazine, TV Guide, CNN and various newspapers around the US. Its is my opportunities to interview others, however, that makes what I do all the more exciting. By public demand (and peer pressure), in just under ten years, here is a list of the more exciting interviews I have participated in: Rob Zombie, Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil), Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy director), Ali Larter (Heroes), Eli Roth (Hostel), Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy), Steve Austin (WWE star), James Gunn (Slither), George Romero (Dawn of the Dead), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead star) and Todd McFarlane (Spawn creator).
HorrorHound Specs: HorrorHound is a 64 page full-color publication dedicated to horror movies, filled with horror movie and collectible news from the latest big budget Hollywood productions to the lowest-budget direct-to-DVD fear flicks.
