About Me

Get this video and more at MySpace.comRaine is a Harlem, NY based sultry, jazzy, R&B and NeoSoul Singer-Songwriter-Poet with a very distinctive voice. Born & raised in the Bronx, NY, she has been singing since her early days, to Whitney Houston, Saving All My Love For You and The Greatest Love of All. Always having a strong desire to sing, Raine decided just about 7 - 10 years ago to face her fears, get serious and follow her dreams. She started singing in gospel community choirs. Always being very shy and fearful, she was always encouraged by her friend and choir director to open up,and that she had beautiful voice but she just needed to BELIEVE. In 2000, Raine lost her close friend, choir director and vocal coach,Maurice Coleridge. Just as she began to work with him, open up and gain the confidience needed to rise in her talents. She took this lost very hard and fell into a deep depression. To rise above this depression she spent alot of time honing her skills, writing lyrics, poetry, songs, playing keys, reading, writing and creating unique music. In 2004, she began working with and singing background for an independent artist, The deliver of Soul,Imessiah Soul, who she is very fond of. Check her out at myspace.com/imessiahsoul. This year, 2006 has been exciting for Raine thus far. She had the priviledge to appear in, along with Kerry Washington, Jackie Reed, Michelle Williams, Natalie from Floetry and a host of other wonder actresses (angel'a russell), in Eve Ensler's award winning play "The Vagina Monologues" at The World Famous Apollo Theatre for a one day benefit productions for GEMS, a non-profit organization in Harlem. She is now appearing in a gospel stage play "A Piece of Me" written and produced by Jermaine Smith of Spittin Image Ent, Inc. Raine's is passionately working at using her gifts, and working hard. Just to be able to share her gift with others and express real life situations thru her music inspires her. Gifts are God-given and whatever is God-given, Raine believes should be freely given without reservation. In the movie the Wiz, Micheal Jackson said something very profound, his character was the scarecrow. He had no heart and was scared, he said, "It's not about fame or fortune but it is about the relationships."Raine's philosophy on relationships --- Developing and maintaining positive, solid and good relationships is very important, they are priceless. One should Strive not to use others or take advantage of others, or relate in a way you do for me, I do for you unless its business. You do what you can, if you can and when you can. My favorite slogan is by Chase Manhattan Bank "The Right Relationship works."Stay tuned - Raine's music will be posted soon.
I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!
