Born and Raised in the Bronx, New York, this young lady is known to be lovely, sexy, ambitious, exciting to me around and just a true delight. There is absolutely no question about it, Raine is an incredible talent with beauty and personality. She started singing in her early days to tunes by Phyllis Hyman, Denise Williams, Barbara Streisand, Angela Bofill and Whitney Houston. She performed in many neighborhood talent shows in her youth singing, dancing and even roller-skating. In 1st grade she sang "Black Butterfly" by Denise Williams and she nailed it and won 1st place. She later spent several years singing in her school chorus, church and community gospel choirs.Prior to becoming a mother to an adorable and sweet little guy, she was pursuing a career in music and at that point decided that settling down and giving up her dream was the right thing to do and was only interested in singing with a community gospel choir "Psalms" and " The New York City Interdenominational Mass Choir. In 2000, she lost her vocal coach, and choir director - Maurice Coleridge whom she was blessed to work with for a few years before losing him. After this lost of the one person who always believed in her and encouraged, she began to spend lots of time honing her skills, writing lyrics, poetry, and playing keys.
In the year 2001, Raine decided to pursue what she believes God has called her to do. Sing! Her sound is very unique, distinctive and her sound. She puts all her Beauty, Spirit, Joy and Love in her lyrics and singing. She is a Jazzy, Sultry, Sophisticated, R&B, and Ballot loving Singer-Songwriter-Poet-Creative being. Her distinctive voice has captured many audiences at open mics and while she worked hosting karaoke parties at several lounges and bars throughout Queens. While hosting karaoke she meant quite a few people who asked her to sing at their weddings or as a background singer in their band. In 2004, she was introduced to Joli Harris, the founder of Icreeupree Music Group and began working singing background for an amazing artist, Imessiah Soul, (myspace.com/imessiahsoul). The year 2006 was a beginning of new and exciting acting projects. She had the privilege to appear in, along slide Kerry Washington, Jackie Reed, Michelle Williams, Natalie from Floetry and a host of other wonderful actresses in Eve Ensler's award winning play "The Vagina Monologues" at The World Famous Apollo Theatre. Next she played in a gospel stage play "A Piece of Me" written and produced by Jermaine Smith of Spittin Image Ent, Inc. In December 2006, Raine had a leading role in ‘The Gospel Christmas Carol’ at Harlem School of the Arts. Just to be able to share her gifts with others and express art through her singing and music as well as the characters she portrays she says "Is truly a Blessing." She believes gifts are God-given and whatever is God-given, should be shared without reservation and that some ones life should be touched and even changed by it in some way or the other...
