About Me
Dreamtime Continuum has performed stealthily in Southern California since 1994. It is a band that many people have played in and sat in on as it has always been defined by the situation, the people involved, and their intuitive response to the moment. Attempts to define it haven't always captured the raw spirit groove ceremonial shamanic intention which is to create an environment where the barriers between entertainers and entertained break down to a more collaborative environment where the audience is a key instrument in the band so to speak, and everyone flies together on a kind of shamanic journey musically, and emotionally. Its founder, Sudama, a professional healer, minister, energy worker, tunes the space and what follows creatively, musically, improvisationally, might be songs, poetry, kirtan, meditative soundscapes, rap, living word healing transmissions in the moment, enhanced by live music, mostly acoustic instruments, tablas, acoustic guitars, bass, didjeridu, shakuhachi flute, sitar and sarod, sometimes electric guitars, often trance and dance, and kirtan. The intention is to stimulate all the body's energy centers or chakras and create sound environments that raise the vibration, resonating, ultimately, with peace and a more liberated experience of mind and body.Dreamtime events have varied from being living room concerts to performances before an audience of two thousand at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara. The band can most often be heard performing a lively dance set at SOhO, Santa Barbara's premier music club, three or four times a year, and more often in yoga center environments where the concerts are more acoustic, such as Yoga Soup, the Yoga Studio, and Golden Tree Yoga, and periodic tours to the LA and San Diego area. Sudama often works and performs as a solo artist/healer on both coasts.
