Twelve years later, SoL PropheT produced & recorded this amazing song, in January 2007.In loving memory of Vinny Dermody: Sol Prophet is honored to dedicate this song in his name.

The Story:Vinny Dermody was the lead vocalist & guitarist in the band "Wing & A Prayer" He traveled the countryside touring. He, like so many other musicians got involved in drugs, specifically heroin. Through the use of a contaminated needle he became infected with the Aids disease and passed away, at the young age of 45, on November 8th, 1995. Prior to his death, he asked his close friend Bennett (SoL PropheT singer/songwriter) to co-write a song with him. That song stayed with Bennett and was created & produced some 12 years later by SoL PropheT, in January 2007.At the time we did not have a name for the song so we just called it "A Song", but shortly after, Dennis (drummer,back up vox, & keys) was inspired to called it "Angel In DisguiseS" , followed by another inspiration to donate proceeds to an Aids Foundation. He googled it, and the Elton John Aids Foundation came up on his computer.After researching EJAF, along with EltonJohn.com website, he noticed that Elton John's 60th birthday/60th sold-out show was being held at Madison Square Garden in New York, on March 25th 2007. He then thought, "Oh my God! wouldn't it be so cool if we could get this song to Elton John on his 60th birthday" On February 11th, he wrote an 2 Emails describing his vision of the song, one to the editor of EltonJohn.com, & another to EJAF's UK office. On February 13th, he received this response from the editor:Thank you for your message to Sir Elton John. Unfortunately, Sir Elton is unable to receive unsolicited material (either sent as a gift or for professional purposes) and therefore we have deleted your message and any attachments. Best wishes Editor eltonjohn.comDennis was determined to get this song to Elton, but without success. Then on February 26, 2007, he received this email from Ejaf:

Hello Supporter:On Sunday, March 25, 2007 Sir Elton John will celebrate his 60th birthday with his 60th sold out concert at New York City's Madison Square Garden.A program commemorating this landmark event will be available for sale exclusively at Madison Square Garden on the evening of the event.The Elton John AIDS Foundation is proud to be offering full-page advertisements in the commemorative program. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these advertisements will go to benefit EJAF's vital work against HIV/AIDS.If you would like more information about placing an advertisement in the program, please download a PDF of the ad order form here: (pdf file)Coincidence? Not!!! He knew instantly that this was to be the way he was to proceed to get his message and song to Elton John, so they contacted EJAF to place the full page ad in Elton's 60th birthday commemorative brochure that is to be sold at his concert. All the money for ad is to be donated to EJAF.And what better way this to share this song with Sir Elton John on his 60th birthday!!! It was a such a wildly crazy idea! The ad cost a whopping $2500.00 and that certainly was no drop in the bucket for an unsigned band, but they were convinced in the songs potential and that the money was going to a great cause. In addtion, it was so cool how all the events just seemed to fall right into place & was nothing short of a miracle. After seeking advice & support from family & friends, they were encouraged to follow there hearts and just "go for it!!!"Dennis contacted a personal friend Becky to help design the ad & she immediately agreed to help. Becky helped them to create a wonderfully unique ad, with Angelic presences & Sol Pro images & colors. It was unlike any other professional ad & perfectly described Sol Prophet's heavenly vision. The ad was submitted to EJAF on March 15th & is scheduled to print and be sold at the show on March 25, 2007!!!!The SongThe song lyrics describe in truth the sadness of what it's like to live with Aids. It also, provides ..a perspective on what it's like to be an addicted and how others sometimes view a person with this disease It tells of the pain and sorrow from the eyes of the beholder. Last but certainly not least, Angel In DisguiseS includes an uplifting & powerfully inspirational message of hope, joy & loving awareness which reminds us that each & one of us on this planet is a beautiful shining star and an angel in disguise...!The Credits:Co-written by Vinny Dermody.
