With 3 kids, a husband, a full time job, and part time school it's hard to find time for my "interests"!Is this where I say Long walks on the beach at Sunset, candlelit dinners and bubble baths? Yeah right! In my dreams maybe! Long walks on the beach? ME? WALK? Hell, most of the time I even drive my fat ass the 75 yards to the bus stop to get my kids off the bus, especially if it's cold or raining. Candle lit dinners? Sure, if we want one of the kids or the dog to knock the candle over and burn the house down. Bubble baths? Yeah right, I'm lucky if I can get a 3 minute shower without somebody barging in with the classic "Mommy, I need to go pee!" irrigardless of the fact that I just made them go right before I got into the shower and that there is a toilet that works just fine downstairs.... Otherwise, I would have to say that I like art, music, horses, nature, traveling, learning about psychology and strange medical conditions, and last but not least surfing myspace for interesting blogs to read, only the latter of which I seem to find time for lately. (and that is when I am stealing the time from something else I should be getting done around here...)
Interesting people, NOT just additions to my friends list, and NOT looking to "hook up" with me!
Aerosmith! This used to be followed by a long list of bands, but I'll just sum the rest up to "Most Any other band that had Big Hair and Make-up in the late 80's" I don't stop with my music taste there though...I'll give almost any genre a chance, except rap- that just annoys me!
Vampire Movies~Documentaries about just about anything!Gross-out make you pee your pants comedies~Cheesy Horror Flicks~Almost anything directed by the Cohen Brothers or Oliver Stone~Indie films~Meaningful movies such as: I Am Sam, Forrest Gump, The Other Sister, Rain Man, Simon Birch. (And anything else that will make me cry!)
Heroes~Survivor~American Idol~Nip Tuck~Early to late 90's SNL~~Cold Case~Judging Amy~Will & Grace~Days of Our Lives~South Park~The Simpson's~Medium~House~Ghost Whisperer Pretty much anything on the Discovery, Discovery Health Channel, and TLC- whenever they are not doing marathons of babies being born....Been there done that three times myself so I guess I don't like watching non-fiction that I am not going to learn much from!
The only books I have time to read lately are the ones that I am obligated to for college and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish (to my 7 year old). At this point, it is more of reciting than it is reading. Ask my friend "Eve" about the book that she's writing...It's the first (non-fiction) book I have read in ages, and it is addictive! Hurry up and write the next chapter already! sighs I always knew that she would be a famous author someday! I know she'll never be above reminiscing about cruising down the fartway though!
My husband, for the life he had to overcome to get to where he is today, and for letting me help him along the way... I Love you Brian and I am so proud of who you are today!
