About Me
I started playing saxophone as a kid, went to the Eastman School of Music as an undergaduate and moved to New York City in 1992 to play jazz in the Big Bad Apple. I have toured/recorded/played/had a cup of coffee/sat next to on an airplane/sat next to on a bus/sat next to in a Lincoln Town Car/got drunk at Small's/got sober at Cozey's with(and these are the only ones I can remember right now): Ray Charles, Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Newton, Dionne Warwick, Teo Macero, Carol Channing, Rich Little, Mel Torme, The Drifters, Jay Black and the Americans, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, The Jason Lindner Big Band, The NY Jazz Nonet, Gary Morgan and Pan Americana, The Rick Wald Big Band, Valery Ponomarev, Gary Smulyan, Ralph Lalama, James Williams, Don Friedman, James Knapp, Frank Hewitt, Frankie Ford, Bill Hollman, Bob Brookmeyer, The Brooklyn Repertory Ensemble, Lew Marini, Gerry Mulligan, The John Fedchock Big Band, The Diamonds, The Brooklyn Big Band, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Ringling Bros and The Ice Capades(don't look at me like that, I needed the money!!). I've played in every major jazz club in New York including the Village Vanguard, The Blue Note, Birdland and Smalls, as well as the finest jazz pool hall in the world, Fat Cat. I've played television and radio and have toured extensively throughout the world. I've been a saxophone instructor and an ensemble director at NYU since 2001 and have recently become an event producer for the non-profit American Music Group out of Brooklyn. Thanks for stopping by.
