I like all things in all types of amounts. I love engaging conversation and my friends reflect both of these statements. Movies, books, music, and life in general. I try to enjoy whatever it is I happen to be doing at the moment. Recently, my second child was born. The childbirth was a horrible nightmare as Tristan lived up to his middle name of Acquellan (Gaelic for killer). My wife was saved by the doctors. Having children isn't for everyone but when you look down at that face so similar to yours you know you *will* stand between the child and anything wanting to do it harm. I gotta say, parenthood has mellowed my ass out. Between that and the military I have been acutely reminded of my own mortality. Some risks just aren't worth it now. Having a family that depends on you seems to do that.
All my friends I have lost touch with over the years. A few Celebs....Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Tori Amos, any number of the Roman Emperors, Einstein and Hawkings, Al Gore (just to ask what the hell was he thinking when he made that horrible movie), Mother Teresa, Baron von Lichtenstein to name a few.....
Jethro Tull, Stan Rogers, Covenant, Tori Amos, Portishead, NIN, Wolfsheim, Cruxshadows, Ogre, Sarah Brightman, Poe, Garbage...My MP3 player is totally full of just random music. If you know a bank that you like, send me a message and help me find new stuff to listen to. I love it when people share music.
DPS, Braveheart, Rob Roy, Equilibrium (you gotta see that), and of course, Boondock Saints ( I can quote that one just as much as I can Rocky lol)
Adult Swim, Heroes, CSI: Las Vegas, Family Guy (finally a comedy from RI)
Anita Blake series from Laurell K. Hamilton. ( I read my first one of her books in the desert oddly enough), A Separate Peace, All of Stephen King's writings, Sun Tzu's Tao of War, everything Niel Gaiman has ever wrote.
My wife, the strongest woman in the world. My grandmother, who taught me to love single malt scotch. Dave Smith, who showed me that life is all about chemistry (funny cause I dammed near failed honors chem 2 in high school, now I teach it:). My Dad.And all my friends. I take inspiration from all of you, whether you realize it or not.
