Jacob Baron is a jazz and classical pianist residing in Potomac, Maryland. He recently completed his first year at Oberlin Conservatory, studying with Dan Wall. He has been studying music for about 15 years.
Baron has performed with such local musicians as Elijah Balbed, Adam Neely, Ricky Alexander, Caleb Lopez, Ele Rubenstein, Zach Brown, Michael Brandon, Wendy Eisenberg, Robin Rhodes. He has performed at venues in the DC area including Twins Jazz Club, the U.S.S. Sequoia Presidential Yacht, the Library of Congress, the National Cathedral, Elington's on Eigth Jazz Club, and the Strathmore Mansion.
Baron's influences include Bill Evans, Brad Mehldau, Bennett Paster,John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Phineas Newborn Jr. His past teachers include Jeffrey Chappell, Kim Hayashi, Pamela Sverjensky, and Gregory Sioles..
