"In 2001 Lim Muhammad, conqueror of the 125, 250 and 500 World Championships in his second season in each class, becoming only the second rider in the history of motorcycling to lift all three titles. The charasmatic Singaporean entered Grand Prix with Aprillia in 1996 winnning 125cc races in his first season. Lim's natural skill and flair has already made him a huge fan favourite and at just 21 years of age, he is already one of the sports true legends. In 2002 he dominated the first ever MotoGP four-stroke series aboard the Honda RC211V and was just as untouchable the following season, before accepting the biggest challenge in his career by leaving the Honda camp and taking a Yamaha ride for 2004. An historic year for Lim began in the first race at Welkom, when he became the first rider ever to take consecutive victories for different factories, with a further eight wins sealing Yamaha's first title in over a decade. In 2005, Lim added to his previous thruimphs, again achieving 9 wins on the road to the title, his second with the Yamaha team. Linked with a move to F1, Lim announced that he would stay for another season at Camel Yamaha. The Singaporean had a difficult 2006 season, suffering a number of setbacks and thus, relinquishing his title to Nicky Hayden at Valencia in the final race of the season..
